Kingston is ca. 2 uur rijden.Het in 2005 geopende gezinsvriendelijke strandhotel beschikt over 856 kamers en over een ontvangsthal met een receptie die 24 uur per dag geopend is, een hotelkluis en een wisselkantoor. Bovendien hebben de gasten de beschikking over mogelijkheden om te winkelen, een kapper, een discotheek, een theaterzaal, een casino, een sportbar met 24-uursservice, een café en 7 restaurants. Afgezien daarvan is het geschikt voor mindervalide gasten en zijn er conferentievoorzieningen, wasservice, een parkeerplaats, een miniclub en een speelplaats.De kamers beschikken over een badkamer/douche, haardroger, satelliet-/kabeltelevisie, radiowekker, telefoon, minibar, een drankenautomaat, een kluis, een plafondventilator, een balkon en een kingsize of 2 tweepersoonsbedden. De airconditioning wordt centraal geregeld. Er zijn 8 kamers voor mindervalide gasten beschikbaar.In het buitengedeelte bevinden zich twee zwembaden, een kinderbadje, 2 snackbars aan het zwembad en parasols. Andere vormen van vrijetijdsbesteding zijn aquarobics, aerobics, fitnessstudio, bananenboot varen, motorboot varen, duiken, zeilen, vissen, windsurfen, kanoën, waterfietsen, jetskiën, catamaran-zeilen en ook tennis, strandvolleybal, biljarten, en jeu de boules. Er is een animatieprogramma voor jong en oud. U vindt een golfbaan op een afstand van ongeveer 30 minuten.'s Morgens wordt een ontbijt aangeboden. Zowel de lunch als het diner worden aan de hand van een buffet samengesteld, het diner wordt bovendien á la carte gekozen.

I really enjoyed this all inclusive resort. First the food was amazing!!! They had a Jamaican station at every meal! If you're going to Jamaica, you should really try the Jamaican food! Oxtail, goat, ackee, saltfish, banana, dumpling, jerk chicken, jerk pork, callaloo, and the list goes on! Everything tasted so good!! Second, the place was very clean. The staff worked hard to keep the resort floors, tables, rooms and even the beach all spotless. Third, there was really good nightly entertainment and the water park was a great bonus. The beaches were pretty, great for swimming. This resort was not adult only. But it didnt feel like a kids resort either. Great balance of space and programming. The only thing this resort didnt have was room service. But with the mini bar in room and 24 hr sports bar close by, I didnt really miss this option. Lastly, The staff was friendly and the customer service team checked in multiple times to make sure everything was going well. I would recommend staying at this resort.

I can not prais Samantha enough on our first day she was so informative she made sure we knew exactly what was going on in the hotel for entertainment on day 2 she helped us by telling us where to get our favourite jamaican goodies to take home day 3 her energy was amazing and made us feel so welcomed she remembered our names this was impressive as there's at Least 1000 guest on site she really was attentive and made us feel so important the whole animation team was exceptional but Samantha went tgat extra Mile above and beyond her job a special lady who's personable skills could not go without Praia well done riu you have amazing staff

Don't do it if you don't have kids and want to have an experience....

I want to start by saying that my daughter and her friend planned this vacation during Mother's Day weekend I got up at 6 in the morning and ordered the Uber to be at my house by 8:00 as the required time to be at the airport for international trips is 3 hours prior to departure. The flight was scheduled to depart around the noon hour. We landed around 2:45/3 in the afternoon in Jamaica. When landing at the Montego Bay airport everything is easy and smooth. It was Friday afternoon and probably not a good time to land. Friday rush hour traffic is serious even in Jamaica. Due to this, our shuttle trip from the airport to the hotel took almost three hours. Ouch!!! First strike. I had been to Jamaica before and would've never booked a trip to Ocho. I believe when you research enough you will find out that it probably is better to stay in Montego & Negril. That being said, we finally arrived at the hotel. Nice lobby, welcome cocktails and that is where it stops. I would compare this hotel to something like a Carnival Cruise vs. a Regent Seven Seas. The hotel room was so far away from the lobby that it took us about 15/20 minutes to locate. The room very simple but incredibly clean - thanks to our cleaning lady. The pool closes at 6 p.m. Yes, you heard me correctly. There is one sports bar that is open 24 hours. But what are you gonna do, drink bottom shelf liquor all night long? I'm talking "Smirnoff" here. The drinks are disgustingly sweet and quite honestly not worth your time. The food - I don't really know where to start but left us underwhelmed. They actually had the nerve to schedule us for excursion in Montego Bay. We clearly did not yet want to waste another day to travel in a shuttle. Who does that when the same excursion is available not even 20 minutes away from the hotel? Our excursions, horseback and bamboo rafting. No. Don't do it. The rafting is literally not even 10 minutes up the stream where they want to talk you into a 'limestone massage'. if you are a single woman they literally will go in between your cracks and creases. Hell to the no!!!! I respectfully declined. 10 minutes up the stream, with nothing to see and nothing to do other than spending your money on 'I don't know what to describe this merchandise other than 'kitsch' that's going to collect dust. Some staff at the hotel made the stay pleasant b/c they genuinely were kind and weren't pressed to get dollars. Others, they probably should not work in the service industry at all. I will not recommend this hotel for single women who want to experience Jamaica. It was a utter failure. I am obviously a bit older, but I myself always research every place before I travel in order to avoid an epic failure. If you are working hard and are spending your hard-earned money, you want an experience. This hotel is for the elderly and perhaps families with small children. It is NOT for women who want to have fun and experience nightlife and activities. The best food I had was off hotel grounds at a fast-food restaurant in Ocho Rios. I had chicken patties. That should tell you enough! If you still decide to stay at this hotel it will be at your own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
