Not a four star hotel
I visited here on the 10th April 2023 to what I was led to believe was a four star hotel, it is certainly not this, I would say it is no more than a three star. The room we had overlooking the canal was very noisy from early morning room 256. The bedroom was big, a junior suite, but wasn't furnished to a four star standard, it had plastic covered furniture, no throws on the bed just a white duvet cover and no ceiling lights just bedside lamps and a small light in an alcove. There was no air-conditioning in the room which was 25 degrees and humid, our control panel was displaying a fault and when I asked at reception I was told they would look into it but it was too early for the air conditioning to be put on. This was never resolved. The windows can be opened but then you have a problem with insects! The dressing room was nice but we did have a dirty sock belonging to a former guest! The bathroom was shabby and in desperate need of an upgrade, certainly not as opulent as on the website. Our room service food was delivered by two waiting staff from a sister hotel with no trays and no covers on the food. When we started eating the food it was uncooked. I rang to complain and was asked if I would like them reheated, I declined as I didn't want my food paraded around Venice for a second time, so asked if they would collect the plates. When I checked out I was charged 40 euros for the food I had sent back to the restaurant, I queried this and was told if I came back they would look into it but I was due to leave half an hour later so just paid and left. The breakfast was actually good despite other reviews. There is no kettle in the room only two bottles of water to last your stay and nowhere to buy a drink in the hotel other than the mini bar which is ordered from room service off a QR code in the room. We never got to see the spa, we found no signs for it. The only plus points about our visit was the location of the hotel which can't be faulted and it has it's own jetty allowing you to arrive right up to the door by water taxi.
Beware: A Prime Location Doesn't Equate to a Prime Experience
Title: "Beware: A Prime Location Doesn't Equate to a Prime Experience" Review: I'm writing this review out of my responsibility to other travelers who may consider staying at this particular hotel, which I'd highly advise against. Despite its seemingly attractive features, the reality is far from what you might expect, and I hope my experience will serve as a warning. The hotel's location is undeniably great, providing a breathtaking view of the canal that initially drew us to it. On the surface, the promise of a room with a canal view sounds idyllic. However, the reality was far from idyllic. The pervasive unpleasant odor in the room was the first red flag, spoiling the otherwise enjoyable view. Moreover, while the hotel's website or descriptions may not explicitly mention it, be aware that they do not turn on the air conditioning until May, coinciding with the Italian summer. This results in a stiflingly hot environment within the rooms. You might think opening a window would provide a solution, but doing so ushers in a swarm of mosquitoes, transforming your room into a hotbed of buzzing discomfort. Sleeping in such conditions becomes an almost impossible task. The incessant whirring of mosquitoes in your ears throughout the night will leave you tossing and turning, depriving you of the rest you'd expect from a hotel stay. It's worth noting that this appears to be the only hotel in Italy with such a bizarre policy regarding air conditioning. So, my advice to potential guests is to steer clear of this establishment until they change their AC policy, or at least until the summer season commences. In summary, while the hotel's location may initially seem worth the price, the discomfort of hot, mosquito-filled nights and the lingering unpleasant smell can drastically tarnish your experience. There are numerous other hotels in Italy that offer comparable views without sacrificing basic amenities and comfort. Take your hard-earned money and your well-deserved vacation elsewhere.
3 Night Stay
Would highly recommend this Hotel in Venice. Staff very friendly, always greeting you as you walk in/out the hotel. Rooms clean and spacious. Windows are quite thin so would recommend asking for a room away from the main streets. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to Venice.
