Het Biasutti Hotel in Venetië is een aangename en zonnige villa, gelegen tussen de zee en de lagune en omgeven door een bloemrijke tuin. Dankzij zijn ligging combineert deze accommodatie de fascinerende sfeer van deze prachtige kunststad en de ontspannen sfeer van het Lido. Het hotel ligt op slechts 2 haltes met de veerboot van La Biennale di Venezia en op slechts 10 minuten van het San Marcoplein. De accommodatie heeft ook een gezellige Amerikaanse bar en een aangenaam terras. Mooi aangesloten strand op slechts 500 meter afstand. Deze woning kan gemakkelijk worden bereikt met de veerboot in 30 minuten van 'Venezia - Tronchetto (auto's kunnen worden geparkeerd op de veerboot). Lokale stadsbelasting is maximaal 3,6 EUR per nacht, per volwassene ouder dan 10 jaar. De toeslag is niet inbegrepen en wordt rechtstreeks aan het hotel betaald. Geniet van je verblijf.

Pretty facade, poor accommodations.

There are some old hotels that provide a level of comfort and quaintness that travelers will remember as a satisfying experience. This is not one of them. Biasutti is in serious need of upgrades. The rooms are tiny, the ‘antique’ furnishings look like they were picked up on the street on trash day. If you’re lucky the water pressure in the antique(?) bathtub/shower is enough to rinse you off. Oh, and the ants in the bathroom were certainly a lovely touch. This is a sad, old hotel.

It felt a uietly faded but still has charm!

For the first time in two dozen visits to Venice, we chose to book five nights on the Lido, at the Biasutti Hotel. We chose the best room which is classed as a Junior Suite and it is the only room on the fifth floor. The room was spacious, with lots of light and a good bathroom. The breakfasts, in a glazed ground floor terrace, were adequate. One was not tempted to overdo it! I really liked the quiet location in an old Victorian street but just five minutes from the Vaporetto. And it’s two minutes from a brilliant fish restaurant - Trattoria Andri. But you must book for dinner to get in. Lunch only on Sundays. The whole area has the feel of faded grandeur - a Gentile’s old lady.

If you like older hotels, like I do, this may be a good choice

The front desk and cleaning and maintenance staff are just as old-fashioned as the facilities, which I like very much: they're a bit formal, but very professional, and, in their own reserved way, friendly. My room was well-maintained and comfortable, and the location is a bit off the beaten path but not isolated; you get the feeling a lot of locals live around there. All of which are good. The only downside is the breakfast. The hotel has the same indifferent attitude toward flavor that a lot of the restaurants do in Venice. I was there eight days and they provided the same tasteless cheese slices, cold cuts, overcooked scrambled eggs and slightly odd coffee and buns every day; the only thing that changed from time to time was the type of dull, stale-seeming cake that was on offer. But it was always still dull and stale-seeming! So if you want a good breakfast, look elsewhere, or bring your own; but other than that, I liked the place, I must say. I was in Venice in the sixties, and this was a lovely reminder, in the best sense, of times past: a slightly faded elegance.
