Lovely hotel!

We stayed at the end of season yet it was still 28c and sunny. The hotel is about 15mins drive from the airport- we hired a car which cost €100 including basic insurance for the Thursday-Tuesday we stayed. Hiring a car is a good idea as the hotel is in a remote location with the nearest shop or restaurant too far to walk, and there are some lovely little villages within half an hour's drive or less. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly and had no problem speaking English (as we had no Italian). It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful with good food. The pool was in heated but still warm enough at the end of October to swim in as was the sea. We’d definitely go back!

We stayed in Cala Cunchedi for 3 days last week. As we were approaching the hotel by car we were greeted by a board describing it as hotel de charme! But sadly The hotel had none.. And yet, its setting is beautiful, the beach lovely ( even though you’re surrounded by 2 public and busy beaches , the sea and the bay are great. And so is the sunset. But in the hotel, the coldness of the furniture, the brightness of the lighting, the decor, nothing there is charming. Not one candle light…. The restaurant is managed by the Maitre d’hôtel Nicola who’s the king supreme ( apparently been there for 40 years) he will allocate the table he thinks is right for you, it doesn’t matter if you would rather sit closer to the water…. It wasn’t relaxing , tables were too close to eachother, and again the light was far too bright in the evening. The staff although civil wasn’t rarely smiling or very friendly. Around the swimming pool there are too many sun beds . And too much furniture altogether around the bar! All too urban and utilitarian. Again no charm! Finally the room ( ours was very spacious and had a lovely large terrace) was also furnished with cold and utilitarian furniture. It’s such a shame, this hotel could have been a true jewel, in view of its setting. Sadly it’s not

Beautiful and peaceful stay

This is my second holiday in this beautiful hotel which is waterfront. The personnel is professional and friendly, the restaurant is almost perfect with a large variety of dishes. I booked a junior suite and it was very well decorated as the entire hotel. I really suggest it for a family holiday. On top the swimming pool is perfect for children.
