Lovely Hotel In Good Location

For our first visit to Roma I wanted to book somewhere to stay close to Termini train station as we had a later flight and wanted to get to the hotel with ease & this hotel ticked all the boxes for us. Massive plus points for location, not just because of the closeness to the train station but also bus routes, Metro stops, taxi stands, convenience shops, bars, restaurants and attractions. The main road from Termini down to the Altar of the Fatherland is straight down and only takes 20 minutes to walk from top to bottom. Other main attractions such as the Trevi fountain, Colosseum & Pantheon are around 20 minute walk and can all be easily reached from this main road or many of the winding and historic streets and piazzas. Check in was easy and we were shown to the big automatic doors a little further down the road from the main hotel after a friendly welcome from the check in clerk. We were on the fourth floor and had a room with a balcony overlooking the street which was lovely. I wouldn't say the rooms should be classed as luxury as it is only slightly above average but for the price you pay you can't expect more. The room was spacious and the bed extremely large and pretty clean if you don't look too hard and plenty of storage space. Even though you are right on a very main road, it really isn't that noticeable after a while and the sound of the roads and sirens really didn't bother us in the slightest. A large bathroom with a powerful and very nice shower, plenty of hot water and sanitary products are provided. Overall quite a nice modern feel and welcoming after a full day in the city. We weren't awake in the room for long so it was more than satisfactory for our needs. Unfortunately our room was located next to the breakfast room which was quite noisy first thing but we rectified this by getting up earlier the following days to get get over the shock of children walking past and ringing the doorbell on their way to breakfast, not the hotels fault but another reason why they aren't luxury suites! The breakfast is wonderful and the staff we met are so friendly and set you up for the day ahead. There is a good choice of cereals, fruits, yoghurts, cakes, toasts, bread, jams, meats, cheeses, salad, eggs and bacon with a choice of hot and cold drinks for you to enjoy. Breakfast really is a big plus point of our stay and all credit to the staff. Overall I would recommend The Mascagni Suites as we had such an enjoyable trip and it was such a good base to explore from. would I stay again? No probably not but I am glad we did for this first time in Rome.

Disappointed

Just returned from a 3 night trip here. The location was fine, most of the staff were friendly and it was very clean. The big disappointment for us was paying a fair amount extra upon booking for a double deluxe room, as it was a special occasion. Once we arrived, I soon realised we were put into a standard room, and not a double deluxe with a balcony like my booking confirmation described. The concierge assured me the 4th floor (where our room was) was their ‘luxury rooms’ however comparing to the images on their website and the tour operator website, it was most definitely a standard room, without a balcony. This was very disappointing for us as it is just a waste of money.

This hotel is truly amazing. The location is perfect, conveniently located within walking distance from most attractions. The rooms are absolutely stunning, very well equipped, the shower is to die for. I really could not fault it, we had an amazing time and will definitely stay here again whenever we visit Rome.
