Unfortunately the review below does not explain the position accurately. They have at least had four months notice . The Hotel has closed and is up for sale the staff contracts have been terminated . This is unfortunate as it was an elegant hotel , not of the modern style , and given the age of the building holding up quite well , it presented a lovely face to the lake with all the flowers and architecture, pleasant staff many of whom had been there for years , it had a charm that will be missed , no doubt will be bought but …..

Steer clear of book into the Grand Hotel Gardone

Went to the hotel for the sole purpose of booking a wedding for June 2023 which we did. Suddenly received an e mail from hotel on 20-Feb (for a wedding planned for 10-June with about 100 guests flying n from the UK) saying they were no longer opening for 2023 season with only 4 months to the wedding and basically telling us the wedding was cancelled. They did the same with the guests who had also booked, they just received e mails advising them that their reservations had been cancelled. No offer to help or response to e mails. Worst experience. How can you ever trust a hotel which behaves like this which has no consideration to honour its commitments or help out people who have booked. Basically they wanted to do renovations but appeared to make no effort to schedule these around their guests. I would advise to steer clear of any hotel that feels like they can operate in this way. Definitely not a hotel you can rely on for special occasions.

This hotel was fabulous. As a solo traveller was wondering about my room as booked a single. I did not have to worry, it was fabulous. A small double bed with a view to die for overlooking the lake. Room was roomy enough, very clean and had all the little extras such toiletries. dressing gown and slippers. The balcony in the afternoon with a cold drink was bliss looking out over the lake. Staff were friendly and very helpful and service was excellent. I booked half board and was not disappointed. 10/10 The hotel is next to the ferry dock so so easy to get on a lake ferry to explore the rest of the lake. Would highly recommend this hotel.
