Het designhotel Palazzo Castri 1874 is onlangs gerenoveerd en ligt op slechts 400 meter van het treinstation Santa Maria Novella. Het hotel heeft een wellnesscentrum met een buitenzwembad en een prachtig aangelegde tuin.Elke dag kunt u genieten van een zoet Italiaans ontbijt met vers fruit en Italiaanse croissants. Het restaurant heeft een eetkamer met uitzicht op de tuin. Bij mooi weer kunt u buiten genieten van uw ontbijt.De accommodatie dateert uit de 19e eeuw. Alle kamers zijn voorzien van airconditioning, satelliet-tv, een bureau en een eigen badkamer met gratis toiletartikelen. De meeste kamers kijken uit op de 1000 m² grote tuin.Het wellnesscentrum beschikt over een sauna, een fitnesscentrum en een binnenzwembad dat verbonden is met het buitenzwembad. Still an oasis in the city

This is our third time in Florence and at the Palazzo Castries. It is always a pleasure with friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and a delicious breakfast. It feels like an oasis in the city and I look forward to a return visit. Rooms are large and well appointed. I would suggest an upgrade to the superior suite which is on a higher floor away from the traffic and if you can a room overlooking the garden so you can go to sleep with an enchanting view of the Duomo. Location wise it is close to many sites and the the train station (although bringing suitcases along the narrow sidewalks is a struggle) but worth the effort when the doors slide open and you are enveloped in the cool fragrant air of the reception area.

Ideal oasis

Beautifully designed and maintained hotel and ideal central location. 10 minute stroll and you’re standing in front of Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. Hotel and the hotel garden was remarkably noise free considering how central it is. Very comfortable firm bed and space to relax. Well thought out facilities too. Can’t fault the hotel staff who were helpful and friendly. Spent nice hour or two relaxing in the beautifully maintained garden drinking a Talisker whisky - not very Italian but a nice surprise to have available. Lovely cat in garden, not sure he had anything to do with the Hotel though! Hope to revisit this hotel in the future - so much to see in Florence.

Good hotel for city stay

A well located hotel for all of the sights in Florence. We stayed here for 5 nights in a superior room overlooking the garden. Room was well appointed, comfortable and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was good, a lack of anyone in charge and a bit random trying to get tea and coffee. A good choice on offer. Complimentary tea in the afternoon was nice but would prefer hot tea every day rather than the tasteless iced tea. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening. The meal missed the mark and didn't match up to future meals in Florence. We booked the pool once and had great service from the lady there. All in all a good hotel to base yourself in, in Florence.
