Moved to this hotel after an awful night elsewhere in Malia, it a clean, modern and chilled out hotel with professional staff and a brilliant bar / pool area. Breakfast ok not great. Good location would stay again.

Perfect in every way!

Went with x2 friends to check out Malia & see some of my friends who work in Malia every summer - the Philoxenia Hotel was perfect distance from the main bars, clubs and equally very close to the beach. A little more expensive that the average hotel in Malia but worth every penny for the facilities. The room was great, very clean, balcony and view over the pool was also picture perfect. Other guests were of a nice range of ages and different UK & European backgrounds, all of who were very friendly and contributed to a calm and peaceful vibe. The food was very tasty, the freshly squeezed orange juice and espresso's available to enjoy by the pool each morning were the perfect way to start every day! ❤ Highly recommended the Chicken Souvlaki and Mediterranean salad as well As great as all the facilities were, the experience was made truly perfect by the welcoming and friendly nature of the staff who were excellent hosts. They all speak fantastic English which helped a lot, as much to my shame, I only knew 2 Greek words prior to arriving - Kaliméra & efcharistó :) The latter was used particularly frequently as there was a lot to be grateful for & the staff taught me some new ones It wouldn't be fair to write the review without mentioning the truly 5 star & exemplary customer service skills of Lydia, Marianna, Daria, Apostolos, Naz, the ladies who helped prepare a nutritious and delicious breakfast every morning, & the cleaning staff and the boss who were also very kind, polite and respectful - together they are a great team and they made me and my friends feel very welcome. I hope to see them all in Malia at the Philoxenia again next year & would like to thank them all again for helping to facilitate the perfect holiday, efcharistó Ciaran

Most friendly cleaners I’ve ever met!

The place was absolutely spotless, super clean! And the cleaners were so lovely when our son was sleeping in the room, they were so quite and just done what we wanted. Cocktails were lovely and staff very friendly. Food was ok, could of been better, felt like the food was just microwaved and out of a freezer rather than fresh. Breakfast was good though, lots of choice and the baked goods were to die for. Pool was lovely and clean, not much of a shallow end for non confident swimmers though. No entertainment which was a pity so had to go out of the hotel as it did get a little boring with the same music playing over. Best place we went for food was on the front by the beach, we sat pretty much on the sea and the food was so fresh!
