First we would like to Thank all the staff for a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel as every member of staff are excellent. From our arrival we were made to feel welcome our room was spotless had everything we needed especially the swim up pool. Cleaners work so hard to keep the hotel spotless really appreciate all they do. Every member staff speak as you pass them so friendly. Food was a treat plenty to choose from. We had a great meal at the Mediterranean restaurant with fantastic service. The bar service is second to none Thank you Alex & Alberto for a lovely time whilst there .If you are looking to go on holiday to Kos would recommend this hotel and suitable for all ages one of the best we have been too. Thank you for the bus service to the beach which also was fautless.

Reviews are subjective and this is one is the same. My heart would like to give a 5 star review, however, the reality is we can't, the hotel lets itself down on too many minor issues. My wife and I arrived at the Utopia at around midnight, a very warm welcome by the reception staff and soft drinks offered. We had booked an adults only swim up room, this holiday I was celebrating a significant birthday and as such the hotel provided us with a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite with private pool which was very much appreciated. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, linen and towels replaced every other day, as was the bottled still water, a lovely room with walk in rain shower, again spotless, plenty of wardrobe space, just great for our 10 day holiday. However, the position of this room (1009) was on the edge of the main pool to the front of the Merika facility - not a problem you would think, all was private as we like, however, on the Monday morning and every weekday - so called entertaintment provided by a french DJ was just way too loud, with silly noises, purile quizzes, aqua-robics and the same tunes every day - all that was missing was his blue/red coat - totally lacking of any imagination, the guy really does belong in a 1960's holiday camp or a 70's social club. We noted to reception that the volume was just way too loud for the few people that were present. Buffet Breakfast was served in the main restaurant - Breakfast catered for all european and UK tastes with a wide range of choice and quantity, I suspect the one toaster may have longer queues in peak period. The english sausages were not cooked, beans cold and juices watered down, but otherwise just fine, with plenty of alternatives available. Buffet Lunch was served in the Meraki facility - it was repetitive, every day same things, supplemented by hot-dogs or burgers, the pork gyros were extremely fatty. Buffet Evening meals served in the main restaurant - each evening had a theme - Greek, Mediterranean, French etc - Asian was our favourite - again always plenty of choice for all tastes on every evening. All well prepared. Staying 10 days we also received two visits to the la carte restaurants as part of our Tui package, we also paid extra for a Starry Night evening. Generally the food was much better than the buffet, albeit a very small menu for each evening. Food was extremely well presented and tasty. Unfortunately on one evening both my wife and I ordered braised beef cheeks - they were full of gristle and tough as an old leather shoe and we did complain, but no recompense offered. Bottled wines, beer and water are charged extra at these evenings which was clearly noted by all the staff when we were first seated, not a problem, had a delicious bottle of cabernet sauvignon which was considerably better than the house white. At the italian a la carte - I unfortunately have a cheese allergy, however, the seafood lasagne (sans cheese) was delicious. With regard to the eating facilities themselves, all are clean and well maintained, however the main dining room does need some sound barriers/soft furnishings the noise is so loud it feels like a school canteen at times. Also an adults only area would be nice for those not wanting to sit amongst noisy babies and children. The evening dress code is not adhered to in any way - there were families and couples who had made an obvious effort to be smart, however, far too many others turned out in t-shirts, singlets, flip flops, beach swimwear. Bars - there is evening entertainment for children and adults held in the Meraki bar, we didn't attend and the only comment to make is that it was a lot less noisier than the french DJ during the daytime. Main bar in reception this was way under-staffed - many families and couples gathered here for an evening drink, Queues at the bar, only ever seemed to be two waiters on duty working like trojans to get round everyone - Once you'd had two drinks getting another was extremely difficult. Day Bars were always staffed and drinks readily available. General Comments - All staff we encountered were excellent, cleaners, bar staff, waiters, waitresses, reception etc - friendly and professional. Rooms spotlessly clean. Drinks - house wines were not very good, beer was low alcohol and watery. Spirits passable, cocktails not a very extensive list. Would we return - possibly not. Would we recommend, yes if you want to visit Kos the Utopia Blu is perhaps one of the better hotels on the island.

Just back from an enjoyable week at this hotel. There are two small negatives about this hotel, firstly they could do with a few more waiters and waitresses in bar and restaurant, secondly you get two bottles of water in your room at start of your visit which are not replaced, however water is available (€1.95 for 6x 1.5l bottles) in the supermarket opposite. Now for the positive comments. On arrival you get a warm welcome and a quick check in. All staff are friendly and the whole hotel is kept very clean. Rooms have facilities you expect including a safe, plenty of storage space and a nice walk-in shower. We had a swim-up room (the hotel has many) with both table and chairs as well as two sunbeds. The sunbeds are sturdy wooden construction with comfortable mattress. One of the wheels on one sunbed was damaged, I informed reception one evening and after breakfast the next day it had been fixed. The hotel rooms are built so that the pools have maximum sun over the day. There are lovely gardens with plenty of paths and we saw a shallow pool for little ones. All food is good with plenty of choice - always includes fish and meat options plus salads and vegetables. Some themed evenings as well which we enjoyed. You are greeted with a big smile at the main restaurant by Katerina and we also had good service from one waitress - also called Katerina. We visited both speciality restaurants (book as soon as you can), the food in both was quite different from the AI buffet and of a high standard. There is good wine available in these restaurants which you have to pay for but we found a lovely Greek wine (Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc) which was worth the cost. The Tui rep was there every day and was most helpful. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants a short walk from the hotel and the beach takes around 20 minutes. Bus to Kos is just €2.10 but not very frequent returns so we used a taxi back which cost €19.00 We would stay here again if we returned to Kos. .
