Spectacular scenery but…

Our first visit to this hotel and we were a little disappointed. Positives were the lovely views but gather most of the rooms would have this. The food is of a very good quality. Staff are attentive most of the time. When we arrived we were given a welcome drink and then the young lady appeared to forget all about us. An apology was given when we asked if we could be given our room details. Negatives - very expensive drinks compared to other parts of the island, freezing pool, some entertainment in the evening but not most of time just music playing in the back ground. There is also a nasty smell that comes and goes around the pool and the grounds are untidy and are in need of a weed. The pool and the small beach is a decent walk and steps are unavoidable, which of course is due to the landscape but worth noting if you have any disabilities. The hotel claims to be 5 star, we thought a 4 star at the most. The staff are attentive but appear to spend a lot of time asking if you want another drink at the bar areas and around the pool which becomes annoying. We went across to the sister hotel (Imperial) where there is a heated outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool. This hotel seems to be of a better standard.

Lovely family hotel

Grand Hotel, built on side of hill in lush gardens. Stylish pool area, lots of beds and space to spread out. Large room overlooking far reaching sea views. All very clean. Own sandy/grainy beach, gorgeous blue waters and beach beds. With All Inclusive, literally didn't pay for anything extra. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Themis, bar manager, especially supportive and helpful. Only downfall was food - was only luke warm from bain Marie's, so it was cold be the time it was eaten. Such a shame, as ended up mostly having salads for the week (which were good to be fair). So not a huge gripe but needs to be mentioned. All in all a lovely family hotel.

Fantastic stay

Arrived at a beautiful hotel in a superb position with fantastic views. The reception staff lacked communication skills and left me for over an hour omitting to tell me that check in was not until 2pm. They should have told me this upon my arrival and shown me to the restaurant. However when I was eventually shown to my room I was given a complimentary massage in the spa for use during my stay. This was amazing. The staff were so friendly, remembering room numbers and your choice of drink. Hope was particularly lovely as was the housekeeper who chatted to me every morning. The food was lovely particularly the a la carte menu but the main restaurant lacked variety and not always hot enough. Overall a beautiful hotel and I would return
