Dit hotel ligt in het centrum van de stad, direct aan de voet van de Acropolis onder het Herodes theater, op slechts ca. 150 m afstand van de ""Plaka"", de charmante oude stadswijk van Athene met zijn goedkope mogelijkheden om te winkelen en te gaan eten. Hoewel het naar het centrale Syntagmaplein en het parlamentsgebouw te voet slechts 15 minuten lopen is, is de wijk rondon het hotel een van de rustigste wijken van de stad.Dit elegante en moderne gebouw staat in sterk contrast tot de oude huizen van de historische omgeving. Het adembenemende uitzicht op de Acropolis en de hartelijke gastvrijheid hebben bijgedragen aan de goede naam van dit hotel. Don’t expect any relaxation in the mornings. School directly adjacent to our room with sirens going off from 8am. Incredible cat party outside our room every night all night, don’t expect any sleep, although I can forgive the cats perhaps the hotel would consider giving out ear plugs. Breakfast awful, 1 egg left , toaster not working, bacon like shoe leather, coffee becomes cold once you put the long life milk in it. Bar tender more interested in watching football than serving. Air conditioning not working and heat coming from the unit unbearable so you have to leave the balcony door open and build a defence against potential intruders, animal or other. On the up side, great location, friendly reception staff, fantastic view of the Acropolis from the roof, housekeeping excellent.

We had a fabulous experience at the Herodion!! It was in a perfect location - a (longish) walk to the Acropolis and just two blocks from the Acropolis Museum. We did the Rick Steves walking tour of downtown which was easily accessible from the Herodion. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was extensive and delicious. The bar and restaurant areas were filled with character and a wonderful place to spend some time after a full day of sightseeing. The guest rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Tops on the list of amenities were the two roof-top hot tubs with views of the Acropolis. This photo of us in the hot tub (taken by one of the front desk staff) brings a "wow" from anyone to whom we show it! The roof-top bar was not open as we were there in December, but I'm sure that would be a great experience as well. I would highly recommend the Herodion, and would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in Athens.

Service is great. Location is outstanding. Bar lounge is spacious and spa and rooftop garden amazing. Carpets on our floor were being changed during our stay so we were moved to a higher floor and staff were very accommodating.
