Dit moderne luxehotel ligt centraal in de onmiddellijke omgeving van Kurfürstendamm met tal van winkels en amusementsmogelijkheden.Het traditionele luxehotel werd het jaar 1958 gebouwd en in 2000 volledig gerenoveerd. Het hotel heeft 11 etages met in totaal 301 kamers en biedt zijn gasten een stijlvolle ontvangsthal met liften en een 24-uursreceptie. Tevens is er een kapper, café, een gezellige bar en 2 excellente restaurants. Gasten kunnen ook gebruik maken van een parkeergarage (tegen betaling).De luxueus ingerichte kamers beschikken over een badkamer, haardroger, telefoon, satelliet/kabeltelevisie, minibar, airconditioning en apart woongedeelte.

Bristol in a weekend stay

The hotel as many have said, it a boxer going into the late rounds. The feng shui of the building is trying to fit modern into an 70's building. For instance the gym is in an awkward spot in the hotel. Now that being said, you can visit grandma and she is always fun to see. The hotel has a rich history and if the walls could talk. The staff are familiar at once and the doorman has been there forever. The young staff is over seen by watchful eyes. The check in was painless. The rooms are in a bit of catergory shock. Too many styles and it is confusing to pick a level. I think they have 10 different catergories. Simplfy is my thought. We were booked in a classic Jr. Suite. While it had the old school look, I rather liked it. The flow was nice. Strong water pressure and huge magnifying mirror. In room Safe in a 90 degree canter and difficult to access. Clean roooms and no hot pot for a cupper was ok. One could get it upon request. As a new guest there are not enough directions to travel the maze of the hote. The manager may not realize the sight, darkness and font size to guide a new guest around the building. Walk around like a blind man and you will see what I mean. The pool was adequate, watch for busy times. No attendent was scene during my swim. Food was in a rather cramped breakfast area. Same high quality, but the seating was sardine like. The upper scale restaurant was excellent, with corresponding prices. Its a Bristol level evening. The windows of the room were so clean. The noise level was almost nothing. The clientelle was geared toward the lower end of tourists. Many business men hung out in the lounge. wifi was strong as to be expected. A nice visit, but I hope the manager listens to the clients as old dogs can learn new tricks.

On entering the hotel it is stunning. Went to check in and my booking couldn't be found, when it was located they said i hadn't paid for room, all assurances and proof shown so after 15mins I was eventually given my room key. Room that was allocated was an economy double very samll room and bed , back to reception as my booking was for a premium room, another 15mins wait as they weren't sure they had one available. Room was large with a lovely king-size bed, air conditioning wasn't working so room was very warm all weekend keeping the window open was not an option due to the traffic . No coffee making facilities but as I had read this on other reviews I brought my own .Rooms are tired looking and in need of renovation. No shower matt so you have to be careful when showering as bath surface is very slippy Hotel is very well situated with lots of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Staff are friendly and will answer your questions Hotel is advertised as a 5 star but at best i would rate as 3-4 star

Initial wow to hmmm…

On arrival the hotel looks wow and lobby area is lovely. When we got to our room on floor 5 we were disappointed. Room was ok, the bed was terrible, I’m 5ft 3in and my feet stuck out the bottom and the mattress was thin. It was really warm in the room and we had to keep the window open at all times which made it noisy from the trains and street traffic. Tea and coffee making facilities would be a good addition to the rooms, we missed this. Location was excellent though right in the middle of shops and restaurants, 7 minute walk from the train station. The staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. A better standard of room maybe better just make sure it has air con!
