Terrible Experience!

Had a horrible time there!! No towels in the room. Room service showed up late to clean the room all the time. 9:30PM!! Limited food at restaurants, food was not good at all! Buffet was small with very limited items! Beach vendors bothered all the time. Like every five minutes. Pools dirty with no pumps working, so you saw hair floating everywhere- disgusting! .Adult section?!! There were more kids at the adult section then adults. No AC in other peoples rooms. Stay away! . Concierge showed on time for that tip at the end. Sorry no tip from me. No top shelf liquor. Had to buy my own bottle. The only good thing was that I was able to book my wedding at another resort. Way way way much better then here. If you can stay away from here. The whole level experience was a scam. Sorry not sorry. Demanding refund.

Lovely resort - friendly staff

This was my third time staying at MLD. I love this resort and the staff is warm and friendly! Bit of a different experience sicne they accept Candain dollars now. I bought the prepaid card as advised by rep, however, I found that most placed accepted Candian money. The market vendors accepted $$ as did the store on resort. GOOD: -The banks do not accept Canadian Coins so staff will ask if you can swap coins for bills since coins are usless to them - please do! -Rooms have not changed much and were relatively clean (but the air conditioner wasnt great). -I emailed prior to leaving and asked to have all room together (4 in total) and they accomodated and we were in block 34 which was close to everything. -Food was plentiful and overall good for Cuba. (We always bring our own condiments and take to the buffet in a little sachel). -Beach was stunningly beautful as always! -Always evening entertainment in the lobby. -Grounds are beautiful and clean and there are always beach chairs open. BAD: -My daughter had her own room and the power was off for three days - even though she asked the front desk fo have it fixed. It was fixed and then the following day it went out agin...she ended up staying in my room with me to avoid the trouble of having no power/AC -Received a gold braclet as a repeat customer, however there were no perks associated with it. -Sadly, only beach entertainment was early moring and there was no activities/music after 11. This was a big change from the last times we visited. All entertainemnt during the day was at the pool. -Evening music used to be cuban and lots of dancing. They played mostly the music we hear in Canada on the charts.....which was very dissapointing and took away fromt he experience. There seems to have been a change to cater to a much younger crowd (20-30). -One half of the resort was closed since there were not enough travellers to open. -The coffee was terrible - used to be the highligh of my day having spanish coffee in the lobby, however it was always too bitter and WAY too much alcohol in it. This was very disappointing since thier coffee used to be on point!!! -Ice Cream shop was closed - but there was ice cream at the buffet so not a big deal. Overall a lovely and memorable vacation, but mosy likely my last visit there since it lost the cuban vibe I so loved about it.

Fun in the Sun Punta Cana (Melia Caribe Resort)

Went on a family vacation which had an age range of 83 to 17 years old. We did the "LEVEL", which at first I thought would not be worth it; but I was WRONG!!! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. If you like to drink, the premium bar in itself is more than worth the money. "Sexy Body", our activities and entertainment guide was awesome!!! Got our grandmother dancing and laughing like never before. He also took the time to give my niece and her husband and the grandmother merengue lessons privately since no one else was interested and the class got cancelled. I would recommend Melia for the staff... Alejandro the concierge, Josephina and Marco the wait staff and Sexy Body!!!
