My wife and I with our 2 year old son just returned from a week’s holiday at the hotel. Overall we had a great time, though there are some areas the hotel could improve on to deliver a truly 5 star experience. This is quite a long review but keen to share all the details. We checked-in online and this made check-in quick and easy. We were staying in a Junior Suite. I initially had concerns that the room would be too small for us and requested an upgrade to a master suite given that the junior suite does not have a dividing partition. Unfortunately, the hotel had no availability but in the end the room was fine. It was spacious and modern with a very large balcony and bathroom. There’s coffee, tea and a mini-bar which is replenished daily. The room was cleaned daily. The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s modern and clean with spectacular views of the sea. The pools are excellent for children with a mini water park and splash pool for toddlers, which my son loved. Due to the hotel’s location it can get quite windy during the day, but this didn’t bother us as it’s nice and cooling in the sun. There are lots of sunbeds, but we saw guests putting towels down from as early as 7am to reserve the beds closest to the pools. Those beds were then unattended for hours throughout the day. Many hotels don’t permit this, and I think this hotel should follow suit. The entertainment is the best we’ve ever seen at a hotel. There’s always something going on during the day and evening from exercise classes, to archery competitions, to spectacular shows. My son was too young for the kids club but the entertainment team were regularly doing activities in the pool to keep the kids entertained. The 7pm mini-discos for kids by the castle are particularly brilliant. Every single staff member we encountered was polite, welcoming and enjoyed interacting with our son. There is a huge family focus at this hotel and all of the staff are attuned to this. There are even little steps at the check-in desks to help little ones up for a better view! The drinks for the all-inclusive package are very good in my view and stand up favourably to other hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel makes it easy for you to get drinks throughout the day with self service beer, wine and soft drink machines positioned nearly everywhere. The quality for an all-inclusive package is fine and the cocktails in the lobby bar are excellent, with most included with no extra charge. I’ve stayed at all inclusive resorts where getting a drink is a battle, and a decent cocktail even more so. That isn’t the case here. As other reviews have noted the food is where there are big inconsistencies in the experience. For a week’s stay you get access to three nights in one of the a la carte restaurants. We booked all three in the Italian restaurant as we knew our son would find something he liked there. The service and food were both excellent. Kids get to make their own pizzas and our waitress, Sonia, offered an exceptional level of service. As an example we asked for some milk for our son and she brought us a carton to take back to our room. She genuinely seems to love interacting with children and is a credit to the hotel. By contrast the main buffet is a stressful dining experience. The food in my view is ok, and stands up favourably versus other all-inclusive buffets I’ve encountered, but the big issue is the sheer volume of families converging on the restaurant at peak times. Like many of the other families we needed to ensure our son ate early and so got to the restaurant when it opened. It quickly became packed, very noisy, and chaotic. Whilst staff clearly take hygiene seriously (they offer hand sanitiser at the door and clean the tables quickly and thoroughly), some of the guests don’t take the same approach. I regularly saw children (and adults), picking food up with their hands instead of using the utensils provided. One girl told her dad what flavour of ice cream she wanted by putting her finger in it. This made for a very uncomfortable dining experience which didn’t feel “five star”. Our focus became feeding our son as quickly as we could so we could leave. On our last night (the Friday) there was an event on at the snack bar and the buffet was much quieter. This made for a much more pleasant experience. From our second day we also made sure that we were in the buffet before 8am for breakfast. Again, it was peaceful and a pleasant dining experience. If the hotel were to release the pressure on the buffet by having more dining options for guests throughout the whole week, then I really think that would make a massive difference to the overall experience. The hot food at the snack bar for lunch is not of a high standard with limited selection, but there is a salad bar from 12.30 which offered a good selection and a nice alternative to hot dogs and burgers. This hotel is close to being perfect for families. If they release the pressure on the buffet, and give more dining options through the week, then I think this hotel would then deliver something hard to beat for families looking for an all-inclusive resort.

Had a great 7 day stay at this hotel. Very children friendly which was great as we had our grandchildren with us. Lots of activities for them them to get involved with. Yes it can be windy but as long you wear sun cream just in case it should be fine. Buffet restaurants was fine, but we really enjoyed the A La carte restaurant ( apart from the dream cafe one as they closed the inflatables down early). The lobby bar was fine during the day but of an evening it was to busy and not enough staff, so we tended to go to the sports bar, where Jose Francesco and his team was Amazing. The Eden bar was good for chilled coffee and frozen cocktails. The dream cafe for lunch or a snack was great it was all freshly cooked. A short walk away out of the back get to one you to right San Blas or the marina. Our room was cleaned to exceptional standard by Mili, who always had a smile for us. We would definitely visit this place again as a family, and possible as a couple as they had the adult only area for sunbathing and swimming.

We stayed at the Fantasia for the first time in May 2022, and were so impressed by the hotel, we booked again for November 22 from our sun lounger on our last day. Returning with such fond memories, we were almost a bit apprehensive returning, hoping it would be just as good. These fears were short lived thankfully, and our holiday was amazing from start to finish! For me, travelling with my wife and 2 year old son, check in is one of those punch points of a holiday. Not here! I walked in again to see the red carpet staircase for the kids at the main reception desk, meaning the kids can bring them up to the same level as the adults, and be welcomed by the amazing staff here. That little touch sets the scene for the entire holiday. Nothing is too much trouble, and all of the staff go out of their way to high five the children, make the children laugh, and entertain the children. Essentially… happy kids, happy parents! The rooms are stunningly massive (we stayed in a Family Master Suite both times, but our mothers came with us in May and had Junior Suites, which were equally large) and beautifully decorated, and have everything you need apart from an iron. The room safe is free, tea & coffee facilities are there (top tip - get English Breakfast teabags at breakfast buffet and take back to the room), shampoo and conditioner, soaps etc all provided. The mini bar is replenished daily with water, beer, and soft drinks. We got fresh milk from the bar of an evening and put it in the fridge for tea/coffee as detest UHT). One barman, after a couple of nights, intelligently gave us a whole bottle of milk which then lasted the rest of our holiday. Beds are super comfy too, with a enough pillows for all eventualities. The hotel is stunningly clean everywhere you go, and is a testament to the staff. There is always someone cleaning wherever you go. Be careful of the tiles around the pool as they are slippy, but if you wear the appropriate footwear, and don’t run, you’ll be fine. Swim shoes/socks for little ones are an absolute must though - do not travel without them as they WILL fall over without. The shop does sell them though if you do forget. Food wise, this hotel quite a few complaints, but I really couldn’t fault it. I’m an ex restaurant manager and have worked in some top hotels serving worse food than this place. Yes the buffet can be crowded, and some parents should keep better control of their little ones hands, but the food is of good quality, warm enough, huge variety, and tasty. And don’t get me started on the desserts….. wow! My only criticism of the buffet restaurant is that drinks service could be a bit faster, but if you stop a member of staff, they’ll gladly get you another drink. Or as I worked out, order 2 drinks each at a time. Overall, it’s fantastic, and we can’t wait to go back this October!
