Benidorm Old Town
Benidorm’s Old Town sits on the headland between Levante and Poniente, so both beaches are a short stroll away. It’s where the resort slows down, with narrow streets, small squares and traditional markets. Tapas bars line Calle de Santo Domingo, known locally as Tapas Alley, and there’s cafés and shops to explore along the way. Walk up to the Balcón del Mediterráneo for views along the coast and back across the skyline, or head to the little cove of Playa del Mal Pas for a swim. Poniente Beach starts at the western edge of the Old Town and stretches for almost 2 miles, so there’s space to lay out your towel. The sand is wider than at Levante, the pace is calmer, and you’ll find waterfront restaurants where locals eat too. It’s a good choice for swimming, for kids who need space to play, and for evening walks with views back towards the Old Town and the skyline. Rincón de Loix
Rincón de Loix is the new town at the eastern end of Levante, where tall hotels and international restaurants sit side by side. Evenings are the draw here – cocktails and live music at the Square, with Benidorm Palace nearby for a night at the show. There’s a variety of places to eat before you head out, so you can plan a whole evening without leaving the neighbourhood. Mundomar and Aqualandia are within reach for days off the sand. Benidorm is a resort for all seasons, so the best time to go depends on what you’re after. From May to October, temperatures average 18 - 25°C, rising to 25 - 30°C in August, and the sea reaches about 25°C – time for sunbeds, swimming and watersports.
