fabulous time at the nubian village me and my partner went to nubian village in sept 2010, heard many mixed reviews e.g- trip advisor- do not listen- we had a brillant time and didnt suffer with any illness hardly anyone did who we met, if they had they got the tablets were cheap enough from across the pharmacy which i across from the hotel with many other shops and a supermarket. The hotel couldnt do enough for you, staff were lovely and friendly- tip when you feel its necessary if you don't want to tip just say no! we only tipped when we wanted drinks brought to the table, and tipped when i wanted some animal shapes left on the bed- ha ha-- we were in one of the bungalows-lovely-towels cleaned everyday and sheets cleaned evryday, food was good lots of variety, and there is only one bar but we didnt cue once- if it was busy we would tip a member of staff and they would bring our drinks to us all night, do not get a visa unless you want to visit cairo etc, and we took english money and egyptian money all was excepted they like the english money, a few nice shops in the hotel and just barter with them and stand your ground and get the best deal and its a bit of a laugh to. The beach is rocky due to the coral in the sea- buy beach shoes only £3 and its great, loads of fish and its nice and warm. September 30, 2010
Lovely holiday This is a lovely resort, great for young/old couples and families as there is lots for the children to do. Its a fairly large resort, we stayed in the hotel part of the resort, the hotel room was nice it had a traditional Egyptian theme to it. The bungalows on this resort looked really nice, they are situated by the beach and have very nice surroundings with beautiful gardens which are maintained by the extremely hard working staff. There are two main pools to relax by in the day and the beach area, there is an animation team working around the pools in the day so you can get involved in aqua aerobics, dancing, football etc if you wish. If you want a bit more relaxation head down to the beach and take in the gorgeous scenery, though if you are planning on heading into the sea make sure you have some jelly shoes as some areas can be a bit rocky. There are two bars by both of the pools and one in the main lobby area of the hotel so you can help yourselves to drinks from 9am until midnight. There are two main restaurants for the all inclusive guests, these allow you to have breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, you will never go hungry. The food was enjoyable, however we would of preferred more variety and be careful not to eat food that has been washed in the local water else you will get an upset stomach. The staff in the hotel cannot do enough for you, our cleaner was great, forever making towel art in our bedroom which was lovely, we bumped into him everyday and he always asked how we were etc. The staff in the restaurants work extremely hard, as it is constantly busy and the same for the bar staff, always serving you with a smile on their face. The animation team work all day around the pool and then at night to provide entertainment in the lobby area after dinner, they are a credit to the hotel. Location wise, this is a great place to stay with supermarkets and shops directly across the road and plenty of excursions to take part in around Sharm. We did quad biking in the Sinai desert and snorkeling in Ras Mohammed, both excursions were thoroughly enjoyed and I would recommend them to anyone traveling here. Overall this was a nice and relaxing holiday, a great resort however perhaps the food could be improved. June 7, 2010
holiday in sharm We arrived at sharm airport which was manic to get a visa and then to go through passport control there was no order people just pushing in etc. Once we had got through that the holiday rep met us outside and told us where our bus was.We got to the nubian village hotel quite quickly, where we were met by bell captain who took our suitcases for us while we checked in which was fast then carried them up to our room so we gave him a tip of around £3.00. Once we got into our room we could not believe the size we had a view of the pool area. The whole hotel was clean at all times hotel staff were friendly, the restaurant was nice the staff in there worked really hard food was a bit repetative but was always cooked well . We went to cleo park which we booked through our holiday rep which was really good. The one thing that did bother us a bit was the lack of english entertainment at night, it was more for the italians so if more was provided for the brits then it would be fantastic, but we didnt let it spoil our holiday.W spent a lot of time in the pool and the animation staff do try to include everyone for things that go on around the pool. All in all this holiday we did enjoy and we would go back. May 15, 2010
