Fabulous holiday in Luxor
We had a brilliant holiday at the Sonesta in Luxor. This is the sixth time returning to the same hotel and it never lets us down. The staff are all lovely people and very helpful. We came home on the 26th January just as the troubles were starting, so missed it all. So sorry for the people of Luxor now that there are no tourists. We will be back one day.

Excellent holiday over Christmas in Luxor
Pick up from the flight well organised, hotel very good standard very clean, good service, good position, breakfasts fantastic both on choice and quality. Really had a a good time even with a 15 year old son in tow. The trips (organised by T. Cook) were excellent value and memorable, Luxor was very easy to get around without too much hassle once you had mastered the evasion techniques for the hustlers, it took us about 2 hours.

Winter Sunshine Holiday
If you desire a guaranteed sunshine winter holiday, look no further than Luxor. We go every year
in December. The hotel Sonesta St George is ideal, Central, very good hotel has everything that
you need, and the staff do their utmost to ensure your stay is good. . Will use that hotel again.
The only thing that let the holiday down was the the flight. Thomas Cook Airlines
believe that on board you should pay for everything. No entertainment provided at all.
If you required blankets or pillows (and sometimes the planes can be very cold) you had to
pay for them. Leg room was minimal, and as it is a 5/6 hour flight your comfort is somewhat lacking.
It is impractial to walk about the plane as the Flight crew are constantly using the aisles to sell goods.
We also had no hot water on our return journey so we were unable to have any warm drinks.

Due to the weather we were delayed on the way out and the way back. I know the airline and the airport can't control the weather, but we had no information during our 5 hour dealy which was frustrating.
Equally as frustrating was the fact that our room overlooked a building site, and as we were on the first floor, opening our doors allowed our room to be filled with dust. Anyone who has been to Egypt will know exactly the type of dust we mean.
We would have liked to have known about this in advance as it meant we could not let any fresh air in and it made our balcony un-usable.
Other than this, the welcome meeting was good, we were given a good map, breakfast was excellent, as was the service in the hotel.
