The luxurious 740-berth marina is overlooked by a sprinkling of sophisticated palm-fringed villas and holiday apartments. The medinastyle shopping complex contains a wide selection of markets stalls and shops as well as attractive cafes and courtyard restaurants. Its flagship hotel is now open. This is the palatial five-star Hasdrubal Thalassa, a sumptuous spa where you can treat yourself to one of several specialist cures or just tone up those flabby muscles with some keep fit training. Another new establishment that is already proving very popular is the Cleopatra Casino. Don’t forget your passport if you fancy a game of blackjack or poker – Tunisians are not allowed to gamble and ID is essential. If you can tear yourself away from the stunning beach, Hammamet town centre is only seven miles away and its ancient medina is crammed with shops and bazaars selling everything from stuffed toy camels and leather goods to clothes, jewellery, spices and carpets. Another interesting place to pick up souvenirs is Nabeul on the Cap Bon Peninsula. This is the place to go for pottery and ceramics and the choice is staggering. Nabeul is also known for its perfumes, embroidery and woven mats.
Tunisia's newest holiday resort recreates the elegant sophistication of The French Riviera with its choice of fine hotels facing the palm-lined promenade, dazzling Marina and casino. Purpose built and boasting a superb choice of attractions and Tunisia hotels, this resort really can deliver a complete family holiday. Broad sands offering safe bathing and watersports, shopping malls with tempting boutiques, high class restaurants, the thrills of "Carthage land" theme park and perhaps most surprisingly the country's only ice rink - all this with international golf courses just a taxi ride away. You can also experience the atmosphere of an established resort of nearby Hammamet. Yasmine Hammamet is also well placed for exploring the lush greenery of the Cap Bon Peninsula known as the "Gardens of Tunisia" and a trip to the the local town of Nabeul adds a taste of local culture with its pottery and perfume craft traditions and colourful Friday markets. Flights to Yasmine Hammamet just two hours from the U.K. bring this glitzy resort within easy reach.
