Port el Kantaoui is Tunisia's first purpose-made tourist resort - built in 1977 - catering to a seriously sun-seeking elite. It has been tastefully constructed with old-style Arabic-themed architecture, which provides a stunning backdrop for those red and gold Mediterranean sunsets. Surrounding the resort are huge picturesque stretches of orchards and olive groves. Golf holidays in Tunisia are often based in Port el Kantaoui, as the beachside course is the perfect place to take in the views while you practice your swing.

The long sandy beaches are ideal for romantic strolls, and a variety of water sports are on offer for those that want to get lively in the waves. The classy marina provides a hubbub of cosmopolitan activities, packed with cafes, bars and quaint shops and boutiques.
