Why Go
Thrilling Orlando holidays are idyllically located at the heart of Florida, in Orange County. Once known for its citrus fruit production, Orlando is now the world’s premier USA holiday destination – and home to some of the most entertaining and groundbreaking attractions and theme parks on the planet - perfect for family holidays to Florida. Universal Orlando Resort, Disney Land, Sea World and other Orlando attractions have made this place one of the USA's most visited holiday resorts of all time.
But there's a lot of natural beauty to be seen on an Orlando holiday too. There are several natural reserves, such as the 220-square-mile Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. A World of Orchids in Kissimmee will be one of the most beautiful botanical collections you’ll ever set your eyes on and at Katie’s Wekiva River Landing you can practice some daredevil kayaking!
It's a huge centre for sports fans, with baseball, American football and hockey taking sporting precedence. Shopping holidays in Orlando are great fun too, with various shopping malls hosting huge big-name boutiques and entertainment centres.
Orlando is a great place to take the family on holiday to Florida. The subtropical climate means in the dry season you'll get plenty of sun without sweltering. It's recommended to go between October and May if you want to miss the wet and humid season.
