Wonderful holiday at the Melia Cayo Coco Stayed at the Melia in May 2014, lovely place with really lovely people. Initially we had a hiccup with accommodation but this was quickly and efficiently dealt with and we were given an upgrade to a Lagoon Room which was stunning. I can't really say anything bad about the hotel or the holiday. The food was superb and the choice of dishes on offer was fabulous, Never got bored with the food at all. This is an adults only hotel so it was easy to unwind and relax. The gardens are very well tended and the gardeners make small gifts for guests from palm fronds and flowers which are lovely. Everyone who works at this hotel make every effort to ensure you have a great time. The entertainment team work very hard all day and every night they create a different music and dance show in the small open theatre. There is a Dive Centre on the beach where anyone who dives should really visit as the team there are very friendly and will help anyway they can. While there we took a Jeep Adventure trip and I can thoroughly recommend it, we saw some of the real Cuba, not just the touristy bits. Our guide and driver on this trip was truly a gem. He took us through some small villages and explained the culture, he even bought a big bag of biscuits and peanut bars for us to munch during the drive. We bought several gifts at the hotel and they were very reasonably priced considering they were all handmade. I loved my holiday in Cuba and especially at this hotel. Special mention must go to the Thomas Cook Rep at this hotel, she was there every day with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for her. June 7, 2014
Absolutely fantastic. We stayed here on our Honeymoon and we enjoyed it all. The restaurants are superb, the staff offer a friendly, efficient service and the Hotel in general is lovely. The Animation Team were enthusiastic and lively and put on alsorts of activities but did not push you to take part. There are some great excursions and we did one day (by plane) to Havana and a Snorkelling trip to the Mangroves with lunch and drinks included which was very good. The veening entertainment is good, with impressive dancing from the in-house team and also some visiting entertainment which was of a very high standard - the Aqua Ballet/Dancing show was incredible. Overall this is a great hotel and I would struggle to find any fault. It is worth a meal in the Gazebo as the food and service was top notch, Joseph who wanted on at the Gazebo was a brilliatn waiter. June 5, 2014
excellent Stayed 7th - 21st may 2014. Great hotel, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff are are all lovely. Rooms very large and comfortable but bathrooms could do with an upgrade. However, plenty of hot water and a good shower. Grounds are beautiful and the beach too. Food and drinks excellent with plenty of choice. This was our 2nd visit and will be returning. May 29, 2014
Fabulous relaxed holiday after a hectic tour. Stayed at the Melia Cayo Coco for a week after the Classical Cuba Tour. Only 15 minutes from the airport, but not on the flightpath & didn't see a single plane. There is building work going on next door, but even though we were on the outside ring of accomodation, overlooking the site, management have planted large palms and the view and sounds from the site are well obscured. We stayed in the standard room - large and possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in! The food was excellent in the buffet - so good we didn't even bother with the a la carte restaurants. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Activities didn't always take place as scheduled, but there was a wide range available for those who wanted to take part. Don't expect a wide expanse of sand - the beach is not large, but there are ample loungers here and by the pool. Nice to have a resort that was adults-only, but not full of honeymooners! May 28, 2014
Great place if you want to rest.... :-) Location is absolutly fantastic, last resort in cayo ,so when you fancy i long walk you have over an mile of natural beach past hotel one.... Hotel is about 15 minutes from local airport so as soon you land is very quick to get there.Hotel is very nice plenty of space to walk around but in the same time everything you need is just step away, staff is very very freindly so you will enjoy it.Loads of excurtions if you want to see more of real Cuba.More beach shelters needed ,apart from that great plece....we will visit again May 24, 2014
A great holiday for adults to relax We had a lovely stay in Cuba at the malia cayco coco at the staff were friendly Our room maid cleaned on a daily basis there was plenty of food and drink the animation staff were great the location was great for the beach and we will definitely go back to Malia cayco Coco May 15, 2014
Good relaxing break at adult only hotel First visit to Cuba and experience would definitely make us go back again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was slightly tired looking but cleanliness second to none. Food choice and quality excellent. Fishing good but definitely take tropical mosquito spray and bite cream!!!! May 9, 2014
Great dual centre holiday with Classic Cuba tour our first week was spent on the classic Cuba tour - really recommend this. We were 2 of 6 adults with guide, driver and small luxury coach. Both guide and driver were excellent and added value to our holiday. Our guide was very experienced and kept us on a tight schedule, which meant we avoided the crowds wherever we went. He had great local knowledge too. Whilst enjoying the beautiful nature, we also enjoyed learning more about the recent and past history of this fascinating country. The hotels on the way were quaint and the food good. The Melia was busy but with adults only very peaceful and relaxing. Pool and beach within 50 yards from each other and both nice, well maintained and clean. No problems getting a lounger. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the shows in the evening fab. The food in the buffet was amazing and there are 3 restaurants, although we felt we didn't need to bother we did try 2 of them and found this made a nice change. We had never done an all inclusive before and can't recommend this one enough. Letting Thomas cook take the strain has led to the most relaxing holiday we have experienced. April 18, 2014
