Whether you’re new to travelling or are a seasoned traveller, you may face issues if you’re not prepared. When you’ve made your booking, you will receive all the documents necessary for boarding the flight through to checking-in at the hotel. Always keep these documents safe and readily available.
We want you to start and end your holiday on a high note but please make sure that you keep any drinking to a minimum before your flight departs.
Your airline will deny boarding or impose additional conditions on any passenger who:
• is intoxicated and/or disruptive
• is found to be smoking on board our aircraft
• is abusive to any airline staff or representatives, either on the ground or in-flight
• makes an inappropriate remark. This includes any comment or statement which indicates that the person may be carrying a bomb (or other explosive device), a firearm or weapon, regardless of that person's intent or reason for making the comment or statement.
Passengers who are refused travel due to their behaviour will be responsible for arranging alternative transportation at their own expense.
Requirements regarding the use of mobile devices vary dependant on aircraft and will be provided to you by your aircraft cabin crew.
Where your holiday includes local transfers between the airport and hotel, we work closely with our transfer partners to ensure that they meet our standards. These are in line with those of the Federation of Tour Operators (the FTO).
All of our suppliers’ coaches have seat belts which must be used at all times when the coach is in motion and you must remain seated until the coach has parked.
If you’re making your own arrangements, we’d advise that you always use a licensed taxi. Make sure you know how much this will cost before you start your journey.
If you plan to drive when you’re on holiday, remember that the conditions will be different to those you normally experience at home. These differences will include local laws and customs, vehicle types, road conditions and traffic signs. Make sure you know what to expect before you travel.
We’ve listed some of the most important things to remember below. Know the rules of the road:
Make sure you’re familiar with the driving regulations in the country you’re visiting (click on the AA link above for more details) before you go.
Take the correct documents:
Ensure you take the following and always have them to hand:
- Your full driving licence (and take the original paper counterpart with you)
- Your V5c registration document
- Motor Insurance certificate
- Travel insurance documents
- GB sticker (if your licence plate does not have the GB Eurozone symbol)
Ensure your car is equipped with:
- The correct headlamp beam conversion kit
- Warning triangle
- Hi-visibility vests (these must be worn if you break down and need to exit the vehicle)
- Remember, you’ll be unfamiliar with routes and local driving conditions so always drive with care and attention.
- Never drink and drive.
- Never use a mobile phone while driving.
- Always wear your seatbelt.
Scooters, motorcycles or quad bikes:
As a rule, we don’t recommend hiring scooters, motorcycles or quad bikes. However, we do recognise that some of our customers may wish to hire them from a third party. If you choose to do this, we’d recommend you:
- ask the provider what safety checks they have undertaken on the vehicles;
- make sure that both you and they have the right type and level of insurance should something go wrong;
- wear appropriate protective equipment.
Please note that many travel insurance policies will not provide medical cover for use of these vehicles.
Safety whilst on excursions:
If you buy an advertised excursion through your holiday representative, it’s the responsibility of the third-party organisers of that excursion to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable and good quality experience. Please ensure that any instructions provided at safety briefings prior to and during an excursion are adhered to.
