I wanted to Thank RACHEL🖤 FROM FRONT DESK NIGHT SHIFT SOOOOO MUCH for the experience i will never forget. I mean How can you forget someone who was only giving you the option at 3 am to stay or be kick out the room?

I mean RACHEL 🖤caused us other damages, including financial loss ( had to pay 250 to stay additional to stay) and emotional distress ( fiance and I had to pack in 20 mins at 3am to move to a downgraded room n had to wake her up 🙃)

ALSO showed "reckless disregard" for whether it was true or false that her assumption she made toward me and my fiance.

At this stage, key considerations of filing DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER is being considered. As i had experienced this at the hotel.

The inconvenience was brought to the desk manager in the morning. The charges were already made but she disputed them. No problem. But the inconvenience of having to call that hotel back to get a hold of someone in regards to WHY I GOT CHARGE ANOTHER $350 dollars.

In addition to this experience start by updating their information. That way no one else will be waiting close to an hour to get in touch w someone.

Google number : +1 212-951-1141 WRONG

Hotel operatoar : +2128067000

If you need to reach a department

Only reason why this area is getting 2 stars is because we enjoy everything that outside the hotel 🏨 😉 and the vallet was a plus.

P.s Hoping this will have RACHEL consider a new job being that giving her alittle power, gets to her head

A Big Dissapointment!
Jan 2021 |

First, I have done my research and couldn't believe the reviews I have read about ARLO NOMAD. So I chose to stay at ARLO NOMAD.

What a big let down!!!

First, The check-in process was a NIGHTMARE! We arrived on December 15th early morning. We figured the room wouldn't be ready but we decided to drop our bags off early. They don't lock your bags in an office or room. They simply place them to the side of the check in counter where anyone can reach them. SO IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A SECURE LOCATION FOR A BAG DROP, you don't get that.

Second, the check in process was VERY DISORGANIZED and inefficient. When we dropped the bags off, nobody offered any guidance on how the check in process would look come 3pm. We thought they would collect our CC, name and phone number and give us a call when the room became available, This service is typically done is larger scale hotels.

The guy at the front desk was simply a body and not of any help. When we came back around 130pm. We were told the Computer System was down. This happens, again not a big deal but it seems the front desk was clueless. they kept saying there is nothing we can do until the computer systems came back up. Again, I believe them but its very concerning a hotel of this size doesnt have a paper back up guest ledger incase issue like this arise. 3pm was quickly approaching and front desk could have cared less about starting the check In process for any of the 20-30 people waiting for rooms. They kept saying 3pm was check in and that our rooms would be ready by then. 1, HOW DO THEY KNOW, if its an I.T. ISSUE.

At this point, everyone was frustrated and being given no answers, it seemed like nobody wanted to take responsibility or take charge of the situation. Finally at 3:15 we were offered to check in by what seemed to be a manager of some sort.

A lot of people checking in arrived after us but were still checked in first. I know people reserve different room types but it made me feel like we got shafted on our room selection. We got a KING SKY ON 23rd floor but in the 01 corner. A view of a brick wall, and no I'm not kidding. Room was small but for the price it was adequate.

Throughout the 2 night stay, we frequented the front desk and found them to be rude and unhelpful.

On the night of the 16TH the night of the big snow storm, I went up to the roof at 10:15PM TO GET pictures of the Empire State building and I took a bottle of champagne up there to chill it in the snow since the room refrigerator can barely fit anything.

I went back up at 11pm to get and realized they locked the door. No worries, I went down to the front desk to ask for assistance. The 2 guys at the front desk were RUDE, AND inhospitable. I told them I left a bottle of champagne on the roof to chill it and asked if there was anyway I could get it. They said no "THE ROOF CLOSED AT 9pm" and there was no way I was up there. I said "actually several people were up there past 10pm and he said it was impossible" He was so much confidence and an arrogance to him. All I wanted was my $10.00 bottle of champagne. He stated engineering was gone and nobody had keys to the outside deck. Again, very hard to. believe the hotel didn't have someone who had all the keys and engineering tools 24/7 incase something went wrong. THE FRONT DESK GUY FINALLY CALLED FOR SOMEONE TO MEET ME UP THERE, THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BUT HE WAS ON A POWER TRIP SAYING IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET UP THERE.

I've traveled all over the world and I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO MORE POORLY STAFFED HOTEL.

Tiny but worth it for occasions
Jan 2021 |

Rang in the New Years with a great view. I was able to get a last minute room. Given the holidays, the price was understandable. Compared to last year, the price could not be beat. There seems to be a popularity with the younger crowd. If you don’t want noise - look else where. Rooms are incredibly tiny but remember that it’s nyc and that’s experience you get. This place is covid friendly in terms of precautions. Staff is okay. Gentlemen ( manger )at the front desk seem to always have an attitude and yell at people. We will be coming back for mini staycation.
