Highly Recommended, One of the best Resorts I've stayed.
Jan 2021 |

I don’t usually write online reviews, but my overall experience at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina was so amazing that I had to share with as many people as I can.

We arrived on the 3rd of January 2021 and sadly today is our last day, after nearly a month. We wish we could’ve stayed a little longer but unfortunately it’s time to go.

Upon arrive we were granted a full complimentary room upgrade due to our loyalty membership program with Marriot Bonvoy, I highly recommend everyone to sign up, it is quick, easy and free, all your eligible nights give you points, then you can use those points towards free stays and room upgrades etc.

Our experience; We were always greeted with a smile at reception, be it for collecting a new room key or to organise a trip somewhere. The service was always exemplary and welcoming.

As most of you know having your own car in Dubai works out cheaper than getting an Uber here or there. The Resort has everything and there is no really reason to leave. However I like to take my children out to explore the city and having the freedom of driving is great.

If you do however decide to hire a vehicle, enjoy the FREE valet parking or if you wish to park yourself the hotel car park is only couple minutes walk from the front door. At pick up times the valet can take up to 5/10 minutes to bring your car so I chose to park myself, they have a security at the car park 24/7 and it is completely safe, if you wish to use the valet parking services I advise you to call the front desk to request your vehicle 10 minutes before, so if they are busy you don’t hang around to long waiting.

Children’s Experience; I have got a 9 and 3 year old incredibly active daughters, they are very energetic and they can be tiring sometimes. So the Kids Club was a bonus and complimentary, with fully trained staff and daily activities. This helped with me being able to continue to work and get some time to myself to use the fantastic facilities, child free! There are plenty of families in the resort therefore loads of other children for them to interact with, we’ve met another family from the UK, kids similar age it all has been fantastic, we put the children at the Kids Club same time, they become good friends and made our lives a lot easier, the Kids Club itself is incredible with loads of things from Soft Play area, Computer Games, Bouncy Castle, Send Pit, Tennis Table, Football Pitch, Bicycles and much more.

There is a Water Park right in front of the Kids Club which once opened will be even more of a reason to come to and vacay at this hotel.

Restaurants; As a regular traveller, I must say I was extremely impressed with the restaurants inside the resort, there are so many that I have lost count. The breakfast is incredible, with freshly made omelettes poached eggs, or whatever you want the chefs to make they will with the upmost of welcoming service. The selection of fruits, breads, juices are vast, worth every penny. Where they serve the breakfast they also offer an amazing buffet option for dinner with a vast selection of cuisines from all over the world.

We have tried almost all of the restaurants but from the ones we have tried we highly recommend them all including BUSSOLA. First time I went with the family I didn’t find the hostess very friendly and welcoming like most of the hotel staff and comparing to the other restaurants, but I didn’t pay much attention to it, we went to their upstairs bit there was few people smoking cigarettes, we requested them to change our table, they gave us another table no problem, the food was great, we had Pizza, probably one of the best Pizzas I ever had. I have been to Italy several times and experienced the most well known restaurant in the world so for me to be saying this, it means it was good.

Unfortunately last Friday evening (22nd) my wife went down for a drink, she was dressed in casual clothing as we are hotel guests she didn’t make much of an effort to dress up with heels or a nice dress. Unfortunately she was mistreated, she called me very upset, mentioning the greeting hostess was incredibly dismissive and didn’t take the time to acknowledge her. Like I said, we are regular travellers and have NEVER experienced anything like this before, we are American Express Centurion Customers and are used to attending exclusive restaurants, we understand and adhere to the dress code for the specific establishments. It wasn’t the case to dress up, not that my wife was in flip flops and bikini she was casual but definitely looked the part and that is the only reason why I won’t rate our experience 5 stars, otherwise overall it has been amazing, I went down and spoke to the manager explaining the situation and he apologised however no apology from the hostess at all.

Laundry; We didn’t pack for that long so we had to use a laundry service which is great, but you can find cheaper external companies and they will come collect your clothes from the hotel and deliver back the next day.

The Private Beach with its amazing white sand, calm sea, making it perfect for children. If you walk along the beach you can hire Stand up Paddle, kayaks and other water sports entertainment.

Safety; Plenty of life guards located all over the water facility areas. The pool is perfectly heated as well, with a lanes pool, kids pool and slide and a beautiful wrap around pool.

The Gym at the Westin is okay, but if you walk next door to the Le Meridian Gym which Westin Guests are also authorised to use, you will find much more options in terms of equipment. The gym is open 24 hours which is great.

If you work remotely like myself and need access to the wifi, you do not need to worry even when down by the beach, you have full reception on your phone, the wifi works everywhere, very impressive, great and fast decent to extreme/download videos etc, no complaints at all.

The location is great you are only a few walking minutes from a Carrefour across the road, popular and famous beaches and sightseeing attractions.

The Club Lounge on the 8th floor offers complementary sushi, tapas and canapés plus beverages for its members. So I did most of my work up there. You can request the meeting board room for meetings as well, I held a couple of meetings there very smart room, access to printer etc.

Housekeeping is great our rooms looked brand new everyday with spotless cleaning, not just a quick tidy up, they actually cleaned it properly.

If it wasn’t for the last night experience at BUSSOLA I would rate the hotel with a 5 star.

An exceptional hotel in all respects. Excellent quality / price ratio. We had a large, elegant and comfortable room with a balcony upstairs. Superb view. Good cleaning. The pool area in a wonderful garden induces a pleasant feeling. Large and elegant swimming pools, including a children's slide. It works at an Aqua Park. Wonderful sandy beach and perfect beach. Comfortable sunbeds with mattress. good service on the beach. Excellent breakfast. The restaurants looked great and the food fabulous. Room 10; Cleaning 10, Beach, swimming pools, sea and services 10; Restaurants + 10; I recommend this hotel.
