Melas Lara Hotel
Melas Lara is a family-friendly hotel on Turkey's southern coast offering a range of both energetic and relaxing activities. When you want to venture out, you're steps away from the beach and within driving distance of the resort town of Antalya. The hotel has a lagoon-style outdoor pool with several different sections and a palm tree island in the middle. There's also a heated whirlpool and three water slides. There's a separate children's pool, as well as two heated indoor pools, one of which is for kids. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet restaurant, perhaps choosing to eat your meal in the fresh air. In the evenings, you can have some Turkish, western or Asian cuisine at one of the hotel's four other restaurants. There are four bars where you can get drinks and snacks, as well as a patisserie that serves hot drinks, cakes and biscuits. The hotel has lots to do for children, such as face-painting and cookie-making, plus a games room with arcade games and a snooker table. If you're feeling adventurous, you could join in with activities such as jet-skiing and parasailing, which are organised by the hotel. If you'd rather relax, you can visit the Turkish bath or spa, and perhaps book yourself in for a facial or massage. In the evenings, Melas Lara provides entertainment such as live shows, live music and karaoke that are suitable for all the family.
The hotel is 100m from Kundu Beach, where you can stretch out on the sand and take a dip in the sea. The Kundu Bazaar shopping centre is 500m away from the hotel, and you can pick up local produce and souvenirs there. In the surrounding area you'll find other shops as well as bars, cafés and restaurants selling Turkish and international food. A short drive away is Lara Beach, a popular resort with an 8km-long stretch of shore. If you want to head further afield, Antalya, the coast's main resort, is 17km away from Melas Lara. Here you could visit the old quarter of Kaleiçi‚ which is surrounded by a Roman wall. You could also have a night out here, where activity is centred around a throng of bars and nightclubs. For a day trip, on the other side of Antalya, you'll find Beydaglari Coastal National Park, where you can go on hikes.
At the pool bar you can get alcoholic, soft and hot drinks till late at night. In the afternoon, the beach bar and pool bar serve light meals such as burgers and kebabs. The nightclub is open until 2am and the lobby bar is open 24 hours a day.
The hotel has a kids' club for ages 4 to 12, where children can take part in arts and crafts. There's also a mini disco.
Rooms at Melas Lara have a balcony or terrace. Inside, you'll have a TV with satellite channels, a minibar and a walk-in shower.

The hotel Melas Lara everythings is perfect for our Club Ballkani, rooms was very comfortble and servis was so good. I will come also with my family in summer. I recommend this hotel for everyone. Thanks a lot to guest relation manager Mr. Haktan.
Where should i even start? The hotel manager and staffs were so friendly and super caring during our stay everyone made sure we are comfortable and enjoying everything there.The food was extra ordinary. Everything everyday were so fresh savory and delicious. Special thanks to Mr Mustafa Onur(manager), Ms Emine(waitress), Mr Zafar(waiter).
Arrived here at around 11pm and the reception staff were accommodating and explained everything well.
1) HOTEL / HOTEL GROUNDS
The hotel is clean, and there are many precautions being taken due to the virus - such as face masks and sanitiser when walking around. The hotel is grand and spacious however the fountain in the reception area was constantly switched off which was disappointing. The hotel has a nice Sandy beach onsite which is just a 2 minute walk. There is a bar right next to the beach serving food and refreshments.
The garden and flowers are well looked after and add a nice elegant touch to the hotel. The pool is very spacious and good for kids and adults.
Entertainment on 6 days a week.
2)LOCATION
The beach is the best thing about the location. However surrounding shops are very expensive and the local taxis charge what they want. They seem to always want euros despite the fact we are in turkey. The nearest restaurant is probably a good 20 minute walk.
3)ROOMS
Very pleased with the room overall. We bought a standard room but still could see the sea from where we were on the second floor. Only disappointing thing was the wifi was terrible and only worked properly in reception. Another disappointment was the air con whereby the lowest temperature it had was 18 degrees and only stayed on for 1 hour before having to switch it on again and get up in the middle of the night. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily- the cleaners did a good job.
4) STAFF
Majority of staff were polite but a select few could do with smiling and greeting their customers properly- especially those working in the restaurant. The English spoken was overall poor and the language barrier when asking for food was as though they cannot understand me- which is fair enough as we are in turkey but poor from a 5 star hotel.
5)RESTAURANTS AND BARS
Restaurant food was nice but repetitive. All food covered with plastic screens due to covid. The bars had a good selection of drinks but no pina colada? Or strawberry daiquiri? Also the cocktails had a 9:1 alcohol radio which deemed them undrinkable. Please learn how to make a proper cocktail.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at melas Lara and thank you to the staff that made it special for my birthday. Would visit again!
