Refurbished in 2013, this popular beach hotel is built in a style typical of Bodrum, low-rise and white-washed, and consists of 212 rooms in 6 buildings overlooking Bardakci Bay. Built on a sloping hill, the hotel is laid out in terraces reaching down to the sandy beach and grassed sun-bathing area. The cosmopolitan resort of Bodrum is less than a 30 minutes' walk away and to reach the majestic St Peter's Castle at the far end of the bay, it includes a walk along the pretty waterfront lined with Turkish gulets on one side and shops, bars and restaurants on the other. Public transport runs by the hotel.

Booked this hotel as a last minute deal in September. Stayed for a week All Inclusive. We loved it so much, we went back for another week at the beginning of October.
It is in a fantastic position, overlooking the bay. The pool area is lovely, plenty of sun beds, towels provided. They are constantly cleaning around the pool. Hand sanitiser everywhere, even on all tables in the restaurant. Room was cleaned every day and was spotless. Felt very safe.
There is a water taxi you can get from the beach, which takes you across to Bodrum Harbour, it's lovely. Costs 10TL each, around a £1 each way.
The only down side to the hotel, is the food. It's not very hot and it would be nice to have some bacon and baked beans with the eggs for breakfast. However, you could always find something to eat.
It is the staff that make this hotel what it is. And i would like to give a special mention to Seerattin. He was our waiter for both our visits and he is amazing. He supplied us endlessly with Tea, Coffee, Water, drinks, nothing was too much trouble. He looked after us so well.
We will definitely be returning again next year ( if we're allowed), and i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel anyone. A little gem
Stayed at salmankis 13/9/2020 for a weeks all inclusive, hotel was exceptionally clean, all staff wore masks, hand sanitizer everywhere, weather was amazing. Really enjoyed our week here, but felt let down with the food, breakfast was a non starter, watery scrambled eggs, and hotdog sausage everyday, they served you from behind a screen, but was very reluctant to give you much, found this very annoying as we had already paid in our all inclusive price, evening meal was better, but still a struggle to get a reasonable plate of food, however I definitely recommend the beach bar for lunch, order from a menu and delicious.
The bar staff were great, remembered our drinks and gave good measures.
Loved getting the boat over to bodrum, so frequent and runs until midnight, in fact we used it 3 nights to go and eat in a restaurant in bodrum.
The beach was nice, and the sea shallow enough for children to play.
If you are looking at going to salmakis I definitely recommend it, but would advise self catering as restaurants out are cheap and food is better
I arrived here on Monday afternoon and was due to be staying at the Asteria Bodrum Resort but due to coronavirus and lack of people possibly coming to Turkey at the moment this was cancelled last minute. I was given the Salmakìs as a replacement hotel via Love Holidays and first impressions of the hotel was it was it seemed to be a very nice hotel. On arrival I was greeted by the staff at Reception in a very friendly manner which is always a good start all the staff members appear to be very friendly and always say “Hello How are you?” in passing, However some improvements do need to be made.
The rooms are spotless! The cleaners do a excellent job at keeping this up to standard considering with what’s happening in the world at the moment, every day I had clean towels and fresh bedding and replaced the the complimentary bathroom products everyday.
The food was okay but not as good as it could have been. Most mornings I went for breakfast and wanted the Turkish sausage and scrambled eggs but these turned out to be stone cold and not even warm which was a massive disappointment and it was like this most evenings. We did complain to the waiters about this and the best solution that they could come up with was to put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Not really the best solution but I wasn’t prepared to have a cold meal again.
The snack bar at lunch time was excellent good selection of food to choose from and was always piping piping hot. Dinner times were very much like breakfast everything appeared to be cold which didn’t make the meal very enjoyable everything seemed to be fish all the time which I understand being in Turkey is probably a normal meal but not everybody likes fish.. but most of the time this was cold.
The hotel’s WiFi massively needs improving most of the time I couldn’t connect to it because the speed was so slow it wouldn’t even load simple pages or video call back home. I understand not everybody comes on holiday to be connected to the internet but would be nice to chat with friends and family while away but I found myself having to keep buying roaming packages from my Network provider at £6 a time which by the end of the week can be very expensive in the end I went into Bodrum town centre and purchased a Turk Teleköm SIM card which cost €20 and gave me enough data to last me the rest of my stay.
There was no entertainment at all during the time I was here I’m not sure wether this is due to COVID-19 and people being surrounded , round each other but entertainment was non existent. Also noticed that their was lack of music being played around the pool area, not a massive issue but have noticed this is usually done in other hotels I have visited in the area.
The hotel is well cleaned and kept up to standard however the toilets down by the pool need to be checked more regularly as the few times I visited there they were not very clean I found people had urinated on seat and floor always seemed to be wet and slippery. With COVID-19 ongoing at the moment . you cannot help yourself to food everything is behind a perspex screens and you have to get a chef to get whatever items you require, their are hand sanitising stations located all over the hotel and always kept topped up.
Overall this is a nice hotel and it is clean and tidy, however does need some improvement e.g WiFi connectivity and the choice of food needs improving at least to keep it hot, having to ask for a meal to be microwaved so it’s hot isn’t really acceptable considering the amount of money we had paid for this holiday.
We did find ourselves having to keep ringing reception a few times in the week due to housekeeping not refilling our mini bar. There is a water taxi that goes from the hotel across to Bodrum and for 3 of us this was €6 there and €6 back. Bodrum town centre is very good and has a lot of different shops to choose from for all various tastes.
There was a snack bar behind the lobby bar in reception which was open from 00:00am-05:00am however on the 4th day of us being here this was no longer open apparently reason being there were no more flights coming in but from what I could see there were plenty of guests still arriving because of this I had to resort getting cheese and bread etc from the main restaurant at dinner time and taking it up to my room. This hotel is open till the end of October so beware of this if you are coming out in the future.
Based on this experience I would rate this hotel average it’s definitely not a 5* as it states outside the front door but would be a lovely hotel if these improvements were made but the reason to stop me coming here would be the food.
