A pre World War II guest house once used to garrison British Soldiers, now takes in guests. Majestically set in the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka the enigmatic hotel is in the center of much excitement where the tropical heat of the coast is exchanged for the verdant cool of lush mountain slopes. For those seeking a sense of old colonial, The Suisse Hotel fits the bill. Dark wooden paneling and spotless wooden floors predominate in a traditional hotel that slows your step and transports you back in time. Kandy's delightful lakeside setting and cultural heritage make it an essential part of the Sri Lankan experience.

We visited Anuradhapura on 03.10.2020 early morning and arrived at Kandy in the evening. We were very tired after a long journey and spoke to the receptionist after arriving at the Hotel. She was very helpful to us and offered us a full board package. The following day was my birthday and they were so kind to prepare me a birthday cake at the very short notice given by my wife without my knowledge. The food was awesome and all staff provided a good service.A special commendation should be given to Ms.Aruni who was so kind hearted and helpful. We enjoyed the stay a lot.The stay was worth for the price.Highly recommended.
Friendly and luxurious experience.
This was our second visit to Suisse.
Very helpful staff. Very concern about our kid, especially on meals.
Very esay access to Kandy City and Dalada Maligawa.
The hospitality received was absolutely first-class. All the staff and chefs were extremely accommodating to our every need, and handled the coronavirus situation very well. Beautiful, neat rooms and prompt service. Worth visiting for the delicious food alone, most ingredients being home grown.
(A surprise birthday cake was quickly prepared on extremely short notice, and ended up tasting amazing).
Also within walking distance (~15 mins) of many major religious and cultural landmarks including the Palace of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy National Museum and Cultural Arts Centre where valuable souvenirs are available to be bought.
Staying here was an absolute joy, and loved every minute of it.
12/10 would recommend to anyone!
