Went here for 3 days middle of August, and found it an extremely nice hotel. Large compound with rooms away from the hotel front. Rooms had a fridge and Air Condition, our room was large with a good size balcony overlooking the pool. Half board and all meals were very good, plenty of choice and staff constantly ensuring the food was hot and replenished. Staff at reception were friendly and informative as were the staff at meal times and in the bar. Due to covid restrictions the pool bar was not opened but the lifeguards were highly efficient around the pool, cleaning beds/showers and ensuring the capacity of customers was regulated at the pool side. A 20 minute walk into the heart of Puerto Banus, this hotel comes with a huge recommend and I would certainly return.
My family and I found this hotel extremely disappointing. The staff were rude and unwelcoming, unhelpful and abrupt and made us feel as though we were not wanted in this hotel. We noticed that Spanish visitors were treated very differently to the English.
There was a bad atmosphere all around the hotel, In the restaurants and at the bar, even around the swimming pool. No entertainment around the pool, no music, kids club was closed even though it was advertised as open. Ping pong tables and pool tables were covered up and out of use.
When we arrived in our hotel room we noticed a terrible smell, especially in the bathroom, it constantly smelt of human waste.
You are charged for the use of towels, charged for the use of an iron and only given 10 minutes free WiFi per day.
Arrived late at night to not even find a bottle of water in our mini bar, no where open so we went to bed very thirsty.
There was birds pooh all over the sun beds that were not cleaned once whilst we were there, birds pooh all over the kids slide in the play area that was not cleaned the whole time we were there. The swimming pools were filthy, black mould all around the filters of the swimming pool and on the floor of the pool, tissues, grass and leaves in the pool. You cannot get a subbed around the pool so we were forced to sit in the garden area and could not supervise our children whilst they were in the pool.
On our last day we explained to reception that we had a very late flight so would we be able to have a room to shower in for an hour in the evening as we would be spending the day around the pool and we’re told that this was fine. After spending the day at the pool we returned to reception to ask for the key to the room we were promised, to be told By a different receptionist that we couldn’t have 1 any more. After a half hour confrontation with the manager who was extremely abrupt we were given a room at a charge of 30 euros.
We played with a ball in the swimming pool for 2 days running then on the third day we were told by the life guards that there was a new rule put in place ‘no balls in the pool’.
When In the swimming pool our towels and belongings were removed by the life guards and our sun beds were given away to Spanish visitors. We were told that the reason for this was that if we leave the sun bed Unattended they will be given away.
If you are not Spanish do not use this hotel as they will make you feel extremely unwelcome. If you have children do not come to this hotel as they are made to feel very unwelcome, if you want to have fun, do not come to this hotel.
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. This is the worst hotel my family and I have ever stayed in and we will not be returning
Definitely the hotel is not 4 stars, my opinion - it is not more than 2 stars.
There was no free WI-FI, if you want to pay it was very expensive and the connection was terrible. The furniture was very old, the room was not cleaned well. Very rude staff - the maid came in the room early in the morning and woke us up without apology. Once she came in the room when I was naked and that was late afternoon. I have never seen such rude behavior in a hotel. The staff in the restaurant and in the bar was polite and friendly and the food was good. Also nobody from the staff spoke English!
