The hotel was never a 4start did not like having my drinks served in plastic glasses the food was good and restaurant very clean but outside round the pool and bar it had never been cleaned this was 10 30 in the morning bins were overflowing with what is going on in the world right now this is unacceptable to me this should be clean before guests start coming down around the pool very disappointed
We’ve just returned after another fantastic week at the Best Sabinal.
The Covid health protocols were excellent and enforced.
We prefer a room at “back” of the hotel overlooking the town much more going on.
Reading some of the latest reviews describe a completely different hotel than ours, reception on arrival was quick and polite thank you Yolanda 👍
Our room was ready and was spotless as on our last 4 visits.
The restaurant was very good, with a very good choice of food at every meal time and a special thanks to our waiter Juan Luis who was very attentive and beyond polite.
The bar service was at times a little slow but you are on holiday so chill out. We would like to thank
Daniel and Francisco always with a smile even wearing masks all day.
Stating the obvious we had another wonderful time despite the pandemic so see you all next year .
On arrival we were shocked that our room, classed as superior, was at the back of the building, overlooking the waste bins. I checked with reception and was told “ All our rooms are superior “ The room itself, really, nothing superior about it. Pretty basic. Towels in the bathroom had seen better days. The shower had numerous coarse long black hairs in it. I’m blonde and my husband has short hair. We thought after cleaning this would be rectified. Day 2 was worse. I caught sight of the water in a cleaners mop bucket, it was filthy.
The “minibar” empty. When I queried this I was told by reception I shouldn’t expect anything in the fridge. I pointed out it was listed as a “minibar” not a fridge. Several hours later we received 2 small bottles of water and 2 tiny tins of Pepsi Max.
The food, although plentiful, was average at best. Many items seemed leftover from the day before, served lukewarm.
On our last night we returned to the hotel for a cocktail before bed. Tasted nothing like a margarita and everything like saccharine. A packet mix I think. We left them.
We wondered if our room had been switched, as the room number had been Tippexed.
All in all, a disappointing experience. We live in Spain and didn’t go for the weather, we went to what we thought, would be a first class hotel.
I put my concerns in writing to the hotel and chased it up after a week of no response.
Apparently no minibar due to COVID, however, receptionist didn’t say that.
