Hotel Best Roquetas

Hotel Best Roquetas is a family-friendly hotel in the Las Marinas area of Roquetas de Mar, a resort in Costa de AlmerÌa on the southern coast of Andalusia. The Hotel Best Roquetas complex is close to Roquetas de Mar's kilometre-long sandy beach, and it's a short walk from Playa Serena golf club. The hotel has a pool area with a main swimming pool, a sun terrace, two small water slides and two whirlpools. The pool has a shallow end that's suitable for older children. The hotel has a buffet restaurant, a pool bar and a lobby bar. In high summer (from June to August), the hotel also opens its popular beach bar. Miniature golf, a boules court and table tennis are available in the hotel, and a kids' club is open for younger children. The hotel is in a quiet area, a short drive from Roquetas de Mar town centre, where you'll be able to enjoy some local nightlife. If you're travelling with kids, you'll find some amusements and kids' attractions in the area. Couples may like to explore the shopping centre or the beachside Castillo de Santa Ana, the local fort once used to protect the town from pirates. If you fancy a day trip, you can take a bus to the nearest city, AlmerÌa, and explore its cobbled streets and rustic restaurants. During your holiday, you may like to try some sherry, which is Andalusia's speciality. You can also enjoy some of the region's pastries and desserts such as wine doughnuts or amarguillos, a type of sweet almond macaroon.

The central area of Avenida de Playa Serena is 100m away, and the centre of Roquetas de Mar is 4km away. The hotel is 50m from the beach, separated by the beachside promenade which comes to life with market stalls at sunset. In the evening, you might like to enjoy a stroll along the promenade and the 1.3km long beach. The local area is more relaxed than some other resorts, but, if you're looking for a more active holiday, you'll be within reach of several places of interest. Families can enjoy a visit to the slides and attractions at the local water park, or enjoy an afternoon at the Parque Comercial Gran Plaza shopping centre, where you'll find fashion outlets, children's activities, restaurants and a cinema. If you like to have a round of golf, you can visit Playa Serena golf course, which has one of the flattest greens in the country.

The hotel's buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Soft drinks and local beer and wine are included with lunch and dinner. Light Spanish tapas dishes are available from one of the bars. The pool bar is open during the day, so you can enjoy a drink by the water.

The hotel-run kids' club is open to children aged 5 to 12 years; occasional activities are also organised for guests aged between 12 and 17.

At the hotel's lively pool area are two small water slides and two jacuzzis. One end of the pool has a shallower part / sloping bottom and suits some older children. At the pool there are lifeguards during the pool area opening hours.

Rooms and apartments are decorated with warm colours. All have air conditioning and a TV with satellite channels, as well as a balcony.

Great family hotel
Jul 2020 |

Great food,-lots of choice, spacious/clean apartment, friendly staff. Fantastic beach front location, All precautions regarding covid-19 have been taken and the hotel is pro-active in ensuring mask, gloves are worn where necessary. That said, you still feel relaxed in the restaurant/bar area once you have collected your food and drink. We were all-inclusive and the choice of branded drinks, ice-lollies, maxi-bon, cornettos etc was great! Crisps, nuts and olives also inc.

We booked a trip to Granada and the Alhambra with PEPE TOURS just down the street from the hotel and had a great day out. Hotel provides take-out picnics if ordered night before if you go out for the day.

A very very nice " Beach Hotel"
Feb 2020 |

With it's proximity to the huge beach you are tempted to avoid the excellent pool and Whirlpools but share yourself !! The other very interesting thing is that it has an absolutely gorgeous "Golf Club" merely 8' minutes from the foyer of the "Hotel" excellent 👍👍👍 Do yourself a few favours and take walks both up and then down the beach , you'll be surprised by what you see !!! With the backdrop view of the "Sierra Nevada Mountains" you could be easily tempted to take a trip that beautiful "Ski Resort" and a day on your "Skis" 🎿😁💥

Well run, busy hotel in the resort centre.
Nov 2019 |

We stayed with our 9 year old granddaughter on a half board basis during August booking with Jet2holidays.

Our first impression on arriving was how busy the hotel appeared to be. We found out this was due to it being a Spanish bank holiday week and as such the vast majority of the clientele were indeed Spanish. This said, the hotel staff and facilities did manage to cope fairly well with the amount of guest staying in the hotel.

The restaurant was very busy at meal times and we found the staff just about able to clear enough tables to keep things flowing in the restaurant. The evening meal was a little late for us starting at 7.30 p.m but due to the Spanish preferring to eat later in the evening we managed to miss the main influx of guests by eating when the restaurant just opened. The food was plentiful in choice with different options each evening including a themed menu every night. The quality of the food was good mainly, the exception being the soups that were available..very wishy-washy.

Our hotel room was surprisingly big. There was a double bed set up in the lounge\diner for our granddaughter,a well stocked kitchenette and a double balcony which gave us a partial sea view. The bathroom was adequate providing plenty hot water and included a hairdryer. There was a maid service practically every day.

The pool area was probably the area we took issue with. The pool itself is a good well designed feature with a few slides and our granddaughter and the rest of the kids who used it loved it. The daily water aerobics was also well attended. The main problem is that the sunbeds are crammed together and set up in rows leaving very little room for manoeuvre and with the amount of people using them it became somewhat claustrophobic and noisy..perhaps things are a little less manic when the hotel has less visitors.

The position of the hotel is a real plus. The beach is directly accessible from the pool area through a gate and this also give access to the promenade. There are plenty bars, restaurants, shops and a bus stop within the immediate area at the front of the hotel.

Evening entertainment was always very popular but be aware its mainly tailored towards the Spanish clientele. Theres a large lounge bar with a patio area which overlooks the main strip which also proved popular.

Summing up...The Best Roquetas is decent, well run, nicely positioned choice in the heart of the tourist area of Roquetas De Mar. It does get extremely busy with Spanish tourists at certain times of the year so if its a lively, colourful, event filled holiday your looking for the Best Roquetas might be for you.
