Booked a week in Benidorm for Paddy's Week. The day before my Flight to go out, Benidorm went into lockdown.
I contacted, On the Beach several times, with no reply,
Then when I get a reply, On The Beach said, I have to contact my Insurance. why?
On The Beach was the agent,
On The Beach took my money.
Why Is, On The Beach NOT Refunding my Money.
This is NOT a complaint to the Hotel, The Hotel is Excellent.
This is a complaint to, ON THE BEACH.
WHY DO THEY NOT PAYBACK, CANCELLED HOLIDAYS.
DO NOT USE, ON THE BEACH FOR YOUR NEXT HOLIDAY
My wife Tracey was due to spend a 'Girly Week', with a our friend and neighbour, at the Orange in early March .unfortunately due to family illness, plans had to be changed, and I took over our friends booking, and travelled with Tracey. The holiday was booked through Jet2 Holidays, who we have now been using for many years, and they amended the booking with a minimum of fuss.
We have stayed at the Hotel Orange, as a couple, and Tracey with friends in the past. and we were not disappointed on this visit.
We would like to extend a vote of thanks to Alison Scott, at Guest Services for her help in securing the room requests we made, both prior to, and on arrival.. On our previous visit Double rooms were not available , but this has now changed, as part of refurbishment, and we were delighted to be given one, which real enhanced our stay..
Check in with Javier was friendly, swift and efficient, and we were soon on our way to our room. We had requested a room on a higher floor facing the pool, although a little noisier than those at the rear of the hotel, they do get the daytime sunshine, as opposed to shadow at the rear.
The room ,whist not large, was well appointed, the only downside is that air conditioning is not on at this time of the year, and it can be a little noisy if the balcony doors are left open. the free safe was a bonus. There is sufficient storage and power points. The bathroom whilst a little small, has a very good walk in shower.
The restaurant was as we remember it, bright and airy, with first class staff, food ,and service. We were on a Full board basis, and found no problem finding something enjoyable at all meals, from the buffet areas ,or the show cooking station . A mention to Vanessa, especially, at breakfast, for her cooked to order eggs, cooked several ways, and English bacon ,and Juhani, the. other show cook .Porridge, is also available at breakfast. Another highlight is the desert selection, far better than a number of hotels, and with free flow whipped cream, as well as . ice cream, PLUS hot custard. Drinks are provided at breakfast, but can be purchased at Lunch and Dinner. Thank you to the Maire D' Raul, and all the staff, especially, Lourdes, Carmen, Pilar, and Desende.
The main Bar and Entertainment Lounge, The Sanctuary, is located off reception, and also has an outside terrace. We used this on our first night, for convenience, and sometimes for a pre Dinner drink. There is entertainment provided each night, solo singers, singing duos, dance show ,and line dancing. etc. We found the atmosphere a little flat, as was the draught lager. There are plenty of other bars and entertainment venues within a very short walk, and several do BOGOF offers, on local drinks and spirits.
The pool area, with sun loungers on 2 levels is kept very clean and tidy, ,and there is a pool bar area for drinks and snacks. Plenty of loungers for the time of year. One annoyance was the music played, it was the same memory stick for 4 days running, and the volume could vary greatly. A good point is that the pool area can only be accessed by swiping the hotel room card, and there is lift available, in addition to the stairs.
The location is also very good, in addition to bars and entertainment,. there is a variety of supermarkets ,assorted shops ,off licences etc, and a wonderful bakery just past the Consum supermarket, that bakes on site it is called Pizza Place,
We both had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel Orange, the staff really make this hotel special. We would certainly consider staying here again
Since our return, due to Covid 19,. pandemic, Hotels and other premises have undergone closure and lockdown. We sincerely wish all the staff a speedy return to work and to remain safe.
we stayed here when the lockdown happened and I would like to thank the staff for being great in looking after us.
we had full board which was just as well as all outside facilities in resort shut.
Couldnt fault the food or service. You may get a bit of bar noise in full season but just take earplugs if required.
