Checked in - room was freezing cold, bathroom had not been cleaned properly - was told that the hotel wing had just been opened. Tech guy came to look at heating, took temperature, it was 15c - felt like -15 ha ha - My Wife went in a hot bath after cleaning it. I got under 2 duvets. Hotel changed the room a few hours later, the 2nd room was ok. Caroline on Rec did everything she could to help.

Not a Great Location; Few (if any) Rooms With Bath and Shower

Situated on a main road (Paral-lel 57-59) of a mainly residential area but adjacent to a Metro station. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel to avoid the worst of the traffic noise. There are no tourist attractions in the immediate area and, although it is only a 10 or 15 minute walk from La Rambla, it is not a pleasant stroll and I felt uncomfortable walking it alone after dark, so took the Metro (3 stops to Placa Catalunya).

The hotel has 6 floors and 4 lifts (elevators). The restaurant was closed due to Covid restrictions but a basic breakfast was available.

The staff were all very welcoming, pleasant and helpful.

I was disappointed to find I had not been warned about most rooms having only a shower (unusual for Melia hotels) and no shower caps were provided. The minibar was unstocked but was connected so could be used for own purchases.

My room had twin beds with a selection of pillows. The mattresses were far too firm for my liking and the chair had very little padding.

I had requested, and been allocated, a room towards the rear of the hotel, so traffic noise was not a problem but there was a very annoying, internal, droning noise 24/7, which I was told was due to the water system.

My usual hotel was closed, so I chose the most central of the Melia offers. In summary, I found it disappointing and I will not be staying here again.

Room service pésimo/Very bad room service

Debido al Covid, tienen el servicio externalizado a “Le room service”. Según la web de le room service, garantizan que el pedido llega en 30 minutos máximo.

Hice el pedido a las 20:20 y cuando llamo a las 21:10 al no haber recibido el pedido, me dicen: “Uy, no había salido el ticket”

Y otros 20 minutos de espera. Además, cuando me trae el pedido ni siquiera una disculpa por la demora o el error. Y la cantidad muy escasa para el precio y la bebida llega sin vaso (en la habitación tampoco hay ninguno).

Ruego encarecidamente a la dirección de Meliá que no trabajen nunca más con esta empresa. Desmerece la calidad el hotel y de la cadena.

Due to the Covid pandemic, room service has Ben externalized to “Le room service”. According to the web of this bussiness, they guarantee gods will be served in 30 minutes maximum.

I ordered my dinner at 20:20, and at 21:10, when I phoned to see what had happened, they told me that “the ticket just came out”.

And another 20 minute wait. And on top of it, when it finally comes, not even an apology for the delay. The food quantity very limited according to the price, and the beverage came with no glass (also no glass in the room).

I hope Meliá stops working with this company, as it makes the hotel look a lot worse.
