So firstly I have been fortunate to experience many lovely holidays and can honestly say, hand on heart have never complained once. I’m not a complainer, If I order clothes in the wrong size they get shoved in the wardrobe as I can’t be bothered to send back so for me to leave a bad review then trust me it’s bad! The majority of the staff I have to say were lovely, esp Gus and Jennifer the two unfortunate people who get left to deal with all the complaints, they reassured us, tried to help but unfortunately there is nothing they can do, it’s out of there hands as the hotel is just not as described. It is sub standard, it’s horrible. It needs updating or re classing as a 2 star so at least people know what they are booking and the price needs to be reflected.
The food is gross! Twice they did a lovely evening meal outside and to be fair it was great, the other 12 nights I wouldn’t have fed it to my dogs. The choice was terrible and it was so repetitive. The hotel had major water issues, on at least 5 occasions we had no water, once it was off for 21 hours! Imagine the smell in that heat from the communal toilets as they couldn’t be flushed! Amid a pandemic nobody could wash there hands, people were openly admitting to peeing in the pool and the toilets were over flowing! Hand sanitsers were mostly empty and just there for show. One day a pipe in the kids adjoining room burst and the whole room was was 6 inches under water. You had to set an alarm at 4am to get a sun bed or risk sitting on the beach where you got mithered to death from the local drug dealers. When I say mithered I mean they would literally sit on the end of your sun bed for hours on end and not give in. All the water pipe bursts killed the air con in the restaurants so trying to sit inside when it was 30 degrees outside left you feeling sick and dizzy. The major issue was bottled water, it would have been easier to try and get blood out of a stone. It was non existent and you had to practically fight for it or pay for it when you have already paid for an all inclusive hotel! The ques for drinks were a joke! Could take 40 mins to be served. Constantly running out of popular drinks, and the absolute icing on the cake was having a FREEZING cold shower every evening. Only on one occasion did the the hotel have hot water! Wouldn’t even it class it as a two star, if you enjoy going to the Caribbean then don’t stay here, they also don’t fog the area like most hotels as you get bitten to death inside and out. We paid for a suite and our bath, phone and safe didn’t work for the entire stay! You could argue what did we expect going away during a pandemic but trust me we did it twice already last year and nothing was like this experience. The Royalton should be ashamed attaching there name to this hotel before giving it a major revamp.
I feel this hotel has had a really bad press , I’d read all the reviews before arriving and was thinking what the hell am I letting myself in for .
Upon arrival we were shown to our room it was lovely ok it was dated but it was immaculate, it was massive we were over looking the gardens , pool and sea the view was beautiful. The bed was massive and so comfortable.
The hotel was immaculate throughout , How people could slate it I don’t know . The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful . A big Thankyou to each and everyone of them Gus and Jennifer on the management side were so attentive. Keeping us safe during a pandemic even nipping to the supermarket for us , so we didn’t have to leave the hotel bubble .Our room was cleaned immaculately every day a big Thankyou to housekeeping. The gardens were beautiful, the bar staff working so hard under social distancing, the restaurant staff were lovely , the food was good always a decent choice . The chic ala carte was beautiful and the food was outstanding. The pool setting was beautiful there was plenty of beds , and the beach was truly amazing .what a beach with beautiful views again plenty of sunbeds the beach bar served a decent range of snacks . Overall the hotel and setting was amazing. Entertainment was good the singers were brilliant . For New Year’s Eve the hotel had set a stage up poolside the entertainment was fantastic., the food was awesome . All in all we had a lovely relaxing holiday in the middle of a pandemic and after one week we were more than happy to book a second week.
I’d definitely recommend it to my friends without hesitation . I find it really sad how such a lovely hotel with warm friendly staff in such a setting is getting slated . When I think “ how lucky we’ve been to get away in the middle of a world wide pandemic “

We were scheduled to stay at Royalton St Lucia so we were very upset that once we got off the flight that we were going to Mystique. Once we got over our anger, we found the staff to be fantastic, the food good, and I want to reiterate the staff was THE BEST. I gave it four stars due to the fact that (through no fault of theirs) this is not the experience we had paid for. Had we booked Mystique I think we would have given the resort a five because everyone from Gus to Nakita to Nigel were gracious, accommodating, and all around great people. However, the wifi was not great so don't plan on working on your trip (like we had). I also cannot give a fair ranking on value, because again, this was not the resort we paid for.
