Booked as an all inclusive golf package I went with my wife and 2 friends.
We arrived early and didn’t expect to be able to check in until 4 it wasn’t a problem even though it was only about 13:00 that said it is the end of the season and didn’t appear to be overly busy.
The room sorry suite was spacious 2 bedrooms and and a living area, which could be used as a third bedroom if necessary each would of course have its own ensuite bathroom. The suite had air-con, safe, kettle, small fridge and enough closet space to accommodate the most fashionable of groups. Oddly they dont provide coffee in the rooms, knowing this i did ask why and was told “Why would we do that there’s a cafe a short distance away” its just how things are done in the Algarve. So if must drink coffee between 00:00 and 07:00 (when the cafe is closed) then take your own.
There are a few out door pools which are round and not very deep so no diving. I didn’t use the pools or the sun beds not warm enough for me.
All inclusive food and drink. What can we say other than it was great. It is buffet style I say style as COVID as altered how you are served you look to see whats available tell them what you want the get it for you and you take it back to your table. I thought it worked well but I like to see wants available before I choose so my friends thought it funny to watch as I went around the the displays with the waiter following me as though he was attached to me.
The food was as you would expect was lovely, with plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some foods that we the British expect to be piping hot, eg. Boiled potatoes. Ain’t! Maybe this is because that the climate is warmer than england o the diner turnover isn’t as large as everyone would like. Other than that it was as good as anywhere.
Entertainment, varied everything from owls to karaoke I thought it was entertaining. COVID 19 precautions worked well most of the time and the staff tried to enforce the mask rule where possible.
I little about the golf course next door its about 1/4 mile or 1/2 a K so take a light bag as you have to carry it not so bad going but its a lot heavier coming back
We visited at the end of their season and so was quiet with no real need to prebook the restaurants no queues and the bars were almost deserted would return in a heartbeat.
Staff were friendly and were certainly helpful
Best holiday I’ve had in a long time.
As a group of 5 we visited for a week to play golf. They have a golf course right next door. We had a very spacious 3 bedroom apartment that was cleaned thoroughly every day. The swimming pools were good, plenty of beds. The bars were good with Ok cocktails. The food although not fantastic was always Ok especially the grill at lunch time with excellent fish, chicken, ribs and steaks (on occasion). The Covid precautions are good and strictly adhered to. Not many Brits here apart from golfers. The staff are friendly and polite. All in all a cracking week. In happier times I would cheerfully return but the two weeks isolation back home was a real pain.
So leaving today with a few issues with the hotel. Some are very trivia like they did not have coffee in tbe room as apparently this is not something they do. Also if you in block 7 you have a canny walk to get to salgados golf course as they don't provide a transfer. When i asked why not i was told that they are both separate to each other. Worst thing of all is my watch went missing one day out of the room and when i went to reception i was informed i would get a call. After a couple if days when i spoke to someone, i was told there was nothing that could be done as i would have to go to the police, which as im leaving today is pointless. Guess the safe is there for a reason, i just never thought id need it. The actual room of hotel is good and spacious, they do provide little bottles of water every day but if you want more you just ask at one of the bars, so no biggie. The food is the same as per pretty much any other all incl hotel so no surprises there. The entertainment is not the best, which even the current issues with covid is understandable. There plenty of sun beds and its only a 13euro ride to old town. While your there when you get a cab back and its only around 9euros. Apart from the loss of watch i would say the hotel has done ok with the covid issues but it is not somewhere i would return to or the NAU group due to that one issue.
