Pateo Village

we stayed for one week between 17-24th sept 2020 and were impressed.

after much deliberation and cancelling to portugal and pateo apartments via british Airways after travel corridor closed we decided to re-book and go.

the apartments are very spacious, old in style and alittle tired but offered everything you required for self catering kitchen wise. it was explained up front that no cleaning/access to rooms would happen during the stay but extra towels, bedding etc would be left outside your door naturally or on request. same with bins, place used binbag outside and new bin bag etc would be left. you had to be masked to enter reception and we saw plenty of staff masked during cleaning at end of stays etc. the robot type pool cleaner was used every day for around 3 hrs, the sunbeds were sprayed sometimes twice a day, grounds people and security were around frequently and as our room was facing the pool on ground floor it was great to look on to from private patio area both day and evening. the pool and trees were lit in the evening which looked pretty and i suppose because of covid it was pretty quiet. The indoor pool/Jacuzzi and snackbar area was closed during our stay but we were advised of this via BA. it suited us to be out of town and i suppose to get to old town it took 15-20 minutes. if you didnt want to go too far there was plenty of snackbars and restaurants within 5-10 mins and a small supermarket at the bottom of the road. Lidl and Aldi were about five minutes away by car, good 25 mins and mostly uphill on foot. If you have trouble walking you would definitely need a vehicle but for us it was close enough to walk to the beach and town but far away to be out of the town zone. we were very impressed with the rules at pateo and portugal regarding covid and found that their restrictions and rules at the beach/restaurants and supermarket were far stricter then ares from the UK, i would happily go back and it was well worth the 2 weeks quarantine for this well needed break - thank you Pateo

We have just had 3 weeks self catering in these lovely apartments. They are very well equipped the staff are friendly. Clean towels are provided daily along with house keeping 5 days a week. There is a jacuzzi and indoor heated pool which was a bonus. Everywhere is clean and tidy. I highly recommend Pateo Village.

Away's stay around Jan Feb time,its quiet then not sure if i'd cope with heat and crowds of summer!! Lovely Apartment's with updated heating/air con Well managed reception Always there to help. Great maid service always. Nice walk into town but need to be fit for the return walk!! Dolphin roundabout is lovely for a pic.After 14 years I wouldn't be looking for anywhere else to stay and already looking forward to next year!!
