We holidayed at Baiai Grande for 4 weeks in September/Ocober knowing that we would have to self isolate for 14 days on return to the UK and it was so worth it.
The hotel had everything in place to facillitate a safe stay.
We have stayed many times and will continue to do so as this hotel provides and caters to an exceptional standard especially given our current constraints .
As always Baia Grande boasts both excellent and friendly staff who are always happy to go one step further to make our stay special- 'breakfast crew' always ready to supply toast -simple but examplifies just how kind they are.
We can only recommend that you go to Baiai Grand and see how safe and enjoyable it is . Make it soon !
Having had a few holidays cancelled this year due to ongoing pandemic we were determined to get away for this one. Having stayed in this hotel in September the previous year we knew what to expect on a normal return visit but had lowered expectations with everything going on. We needn't of had to. The rooms are cleaned every day and all the necessary precautions are in place. The hotel was still as fantastic as we had remembered, very quiet but that made the experience even better.
I proposed to my partner on this trip and have to say thank you for the unexpected gifts that were left in our room from the hotel. We hadn't arranged anything directly with the hotel but they accessed social media and noticed the occasion. A very special touch and a massive thank you for making the ocassion even more special.
We have stayed in the area a number of times before, it is a beautiful location, but upon staying in the Baia grande previously we would no longer stay anywhere else in Albufeira.
The grounds and facilities are top notch and the staff from cleaners to management do an excellent job. A special mention to Fabio in the pool bar, very friendly and attentive and an excellent barman.
We will return again, pandemic or not.
The Baia Grande Hotel is situated in a little village just outside the main resort of Albuferia with a outdoor swimming pool its really nice and big, there's also a indoor pool and sauna, but these were closed due to covid. There was a poolside snack bar, which did nice food and drinks (a little pricey), but the staff Fabio and Miguel were fantastic, very friendly and nothing was too much to ask for. Great service!! We stayed bed and breakfast and it was OK, does get a little boring after ten
days though. All the staff were welcoming and chatty and made us feel comfortable. We only ate once in the evening at the hotel as it was buffet style. It wasn't anything to shout about to be honest. The twin room was pleasant enough with a Seaview on the balcony.
Included in the room is: TV, hairdryer, fridge (very small) and safe which you have to rent, aircon and WiFi (very slow). The shower head is not detachable, but its a very spacious bathroom. They cleaned our room everyday and were very friendly. The lighting in the rooms and hotel in general isnt very good. There's two lifts, a paino bar 🍸 and the main reception were you can get free towels too.
There's a beautiful beach 10 mins walk with a fab restaurant 😀 (ask for a for a map at reception). There is a posh little restaurant about 5 mins walk called O Marinherio 🥰 which does amazing food and excellent service, you might have to book its very popular (ask for outside). The Maria is about 6/7 euros in a taxi and its relaxed with a handful of place to eat and drink. The old town is fab with lots of old little streets, bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, stalls and gift shops. There is a main sqaure and a very big beach. Its very pretty at night. There's a little train that takes you from the old town to the new part.(we didn't venture there though).
I don't think I would stay in the hotel again as its a little too far out and it wasnt a four star. We did enjoy our hoilday and felt very lucky to be able to go away.
