We spend christmas and new year 2021 in club med marrakkesh. Despite some hesitation in flying, we came with negative pcr test needed to enter both for staff and guests! Stayed in the resort 10 days, clean, masks, sanitiser everywhere and felt very safe. As usual for club full programme for kids and adults. An unforgettable restful experience for all the family. Staff were all super friendly!!!
It was an amazing week, with Anas and Akram, who are very nice, funny and handsome G.O. They spent almost all their time with the Junior Club, and the restaurant and bar follow Covid guidelines.
The pool was very clean and the nature was beautiful.
Pool/restaurant attractive, although no privacy in El Sabir, tables close together, about one metre. About 75% of cereals bowls chipped in main restaurant, also some large plates. Why for this supposed quality of hotel. Food good and good variety, especially tagine night. Room quiet, could do with update, no kettle (we are British!) or fridge, latter especially required. Fridge in restaurant with water/wine, but whats the point as obviously does not stay cold in room.
Noisy at times, look for quiet pool. Good nibbles at lunchtime/afternoon, bar staff helpful. Disappointing pitch and putt, photos onsite misleading. Trying to book golf package for offsite courses a disaster, unnecessarily complicated. Also, initially overcharged. Taxis ordered very efficiently by reception staff but be SERIOUSLY warned, many of the taxis are not safe. Two of ours had no working seat belts, one even wooden door handle to replace the original! Gym good, but husband badly injured forehead on jutting out horizontal bar of yoga matts holder whilst trying to pick up weights. Holder placed far too close to weights and still in place at end of trip. He has only now lost the two black eyes that developed with the bruising. No follow up from hotel to see how he was.
Overall a reasonable experience, weather lovely, but there are many things which could so easily be improved in this rather tired looking hotel. I don't think we will be doing Club Med again.
