How did they got 5 stars??? The hotel is trashed, the pictures you see in booking is a big lie. Everything is broken, fungus everywhere, dirty, elevators dont work, and they have holes in the walls. Beach is full w rocks, seaweed. We asked how to rent a car, what to see, how to get to one or another island which is near hotel, concierge absolutely knew nothing. At night you can not sleep, because so many drunks are shouting, fighting, seemed like a horror movie. And the buffay food is so disgusting, they have 2 restaurants but they bring everything from buffay . I don’t understand how they get their license and don’t bankrupt
We stayed at this resort because friends recommended it (they had stayed pre-Covid). All in all, we had a solid stay. The resort is about a 40 minute drive from CUN.
One consistent thing about this place is the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and willing to accommodate. Special thank you to Bany, Alicia, Yadira and Isabel (from Spa Princess), Bryan, Katy and Raidel.
There were some inconsistencies with this place including the food and mask enforcement. For example, there were signs at the buffet that masks were required. However, half the people I saw didn’t wear it; staff didn’t enforce it either. I understand people are trying to forget there’s a pandemic happening, but at least enforce mask-wearing at the buffet, please.
As one reviewer wrote, the food can get a bit tiring after day 3. They do make an effort and given business is slow, it doesn’t make sense to overdue it with the food. Though, my one friend stated that some of the food (fish namely) was bland. During our stay, only La Bruschetta and Aroma (restaurants) were open. The portions at Aroma are small. In fact, we went to Yucatán (buffet) after and also saw people from Aroma.
Understandably, half of the property was closed, but the pool near the beach was still open, including the pool bar. We stayed in building 5 overlooking the swim up pools. I appreciated the complimentary mini -bar and free, reliable Internet. We slept very well. The mini-bar included Sol beer, canned mineral water, soda and bottled water.
One perk we used was the 50% discount off spa packages. You must book within 24 hours after checking in. We went all out and purchased a $230/person spa package. It included a body scrub, body wrap, facial, massage and milk bath. It lasted for 3 blissful hours. Highly recommend.
The beach was nice and quiet. The Riviera side is much more happening, but we quite liked the low-key vibe.
I’m not necessarily in a hurry to return, but we had a good time. Again, the staff really made the stay memorable. It’s nice it’s an adults-only place. If you like your R&R quiet, now is a good time to go. If you need a party scene, Platinum isn’t the place (at least for now).
Just want to start off by saying thank you platinum for the upgrade . We had a deluxe room and we where upgraded to a platinum room👍. The resort and grounds are very nice. The staff will go the extra mile to make you smile. The food at the restaurants was top notch. Liquor is all premium brands . The entertainment staff was always trying to get the people to participate in activities 👍. Pool and beach was good. Conclusion I would definitely recommend this resort and we will definitely come back again in 2021.
