Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf Spa Resort is a luxury adults-only hotel on the Yucatan Peninsula, in eastern Mexico. It's on Isla Blanca, a long, sandy peninsula that juts out of the mainland, eventually fading into nothing at its tip. The hotel is on the beach and has its own golf course and spa, offering holidaymakers a restful break in the Caribbean sunshine. The hotel has four swimming pools, one of which is an infinity pool. There are palm trees dotted around the pool area and grounds, creating a tropical feel. There's a pool and beach waiter service, so you can order a drink from your chosen spot and it'll be brought to you. There are eight bars that you can visit during your stay, including two pool bars, a beach bar and a theatre bar that's open in the evenings. When you're hungry, you can eat at one of the hotel's nine restaurants. During your stay, you may choose to relax with a game of tennis, beach volleyball or darts. If you fancy a workout, you could pop to the hotel gym and use the facilities there. In the spa, you can have a Turkish bath or work up a sweat in the sauna. You may choose to book yourself in for a manicure, facial or massage.
The hotel is in a quiet, flat, secluded area on the beach. If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can rent a car at the hotel, or pick up a taxi outside. You could head to the tip of Isla Blanca, with the sea becoming narrower either side of you. You may choose to go to Cancun, 17km away, where you'll find a wide range of shops where you may find some souvenirs to take home. There's also a wide range of bars, clubs and live music venues in this vibrant city, for if you fancy experiencing some Mexican nightlife.
The hotel has three buffet restaurants and six ala carte restaurants, with French, Italian and grilled foods available. There are three options to choose from for dinner, five for lunch and eight for dinner, and one of the buffet restaurants is open 24 hours a day.

After year of canceled travel, we wanted a trip to a warm sunny location where we could relax and be pampered in self-contained safety.
Secrets Playa Mujeres fit the bill. Being a premium all-inclusive, the resort allowed us to isolate without feeling restricted. Like at all Secrets properties nowadays, Playa Mujeres staff followed strict Covid safety protocols, and was intentionally keeping occupancy low. We felt perfectly safe going maskless poolside, at the beach and while dining.
The resort, 45 minutes from Cancun airport, has the best beach we've found in the area. Food and cocktail quality everwhere was top-notch, and staff were skilled and very friendly. Do try Seaside Grill, Oceana, Bordeaux (rack of lamb!), Portofino, and Himatsu (esp. asian duck). We also recommend the fun poolside Sunday night Mexican fiesta.
Secrets guests also get full use of adjacent Dreams resort facilities, including their lazy river water float and the all-the-grilled-meat-you-can eat Brazilian steakhouse.
Having arranged our stay in the Preferred Club building, we had a gorgeous beach view from our ocean front junior suite balcony, where we enjoyed great breakfasts courtesy of room service. That building allows access to the Preferred Club lounge, where we met Leslie, our very outgoing and creative bartender. The Dreams also has a Preferred Club; if you go there, ask for Miguel, another outstanding and engaging bartender.
If you go to the optional UVC membership presentation, I hope you get to speak with Karina. She's naturally warm, funny and extremely knowledgeable, and not at all pushy.
We also visited the onsite Spa, where my wife and I enjoyed side-by-side treatments. I recommend Patsy, the masseuse who performed my 50 minute massage.
Just got back from a 5 day stay! Awesome resort, scenery, facilities food and staff! Valencia at the preferred lounge, David and Maria at the pool/beach concierge and Carlos over at the Pool at DREAMS, were EXCELLENT! I highly suggest you go! Tell them Torie sent you!
My husband & I spent Christmas 2020 holidays at this resort & had an amazing time. The food was great, daily activities & night time shows were very entertaining. We never left the resort. The best part were the restaurants. We had 2 favs: 1st was the Hitmitsui : Japanese restaurant. The hostess Sheydi & Chef Francisco went above & beyond planning a surprise anniversary dinner for us. The attention to detail of the 4 course meal was unmatched & we enjoyed every single item on our plates. We also loved El Patio: Mexican restaurant with host Ivan Moreno who made great food suggestions that we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend this resort. You get a bit of everything from entertainment to relaxation! Also safety & cleanliness were well in place. We will definitely visit again!
