Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa is a family-friendly hotel on the small tropical island of Mauritius. You'll find it in Pointe aux Piment, just next to the main centre of Grand Baie. Mauritius is in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and is famous for its turquoise waters and long white sandy beaches where you can relax under a palm tree with a coconut or sunbathe by a lagoon. There are plenty of sporting activities to try out at the hotel, including spinning and yoga classes, as well as a small gym with cardio equipment and weights. You can also book activities at the boat house, such as a catamaran trip, glass bottom boat tour, snorkelling and kayaking. Water-skiing and windsurfing are also offered by the hotel, if you fancy trying something more energetic. To unwind, there's a spa where you can book a massage or beauty treatment. You'll find an outdoor pool at Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa, as well as a shallow pool for kids to enjoy. The main buffet restaurant offers local and international cuisine. There's also a bar where light snacks and drinks can be ordered in the lounge area, though if you prefer you can take it to sip by the pool.
Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa is directly on the beach, a long sandy stretch that goes on for miles. Within the area of Grand Baie there's plenty to explore, whether you're looking for adventurous activities like mountain climbing, or you just want to taste the local cuisine. The main road is full of restaurants and bars with beachfront views. Mauritius' capital, Port Louis, is a 15km drive away. There, you'll find shopping centres, the local market and some great places to try Mauritius' famous tea. For a day trip, you can explore the popular beaches on the west of the island, such as Le Morne or Flic en Flac.
The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers both local and international cuisine. The hotel also has two a la carte restaurants, where a reservation is required. One serves seafood for lunch and dinner, while the other provides Italian cuisine for dinner.
A kids' club is run by the hotel where children can make new friends, take part in sporting activities and enjoy meals together.
Many of the rooms have views overlooking the sea or the mountains. Every room has balcony or terrace, air conditioning, and baby cots can be provided.

What a surprise that quarantine turned out to be rather enjoyable, thanks to the staff at Victoria Beachcomber! I didn't know what to expect, but I must say I enjoyed my 2 week stay at this resort. The staff went out of their way to maintain excellent safety precautions, in light of covid. The room was very nice and very comfortable. The view from my room and very pleasant porch was unimaginably beautiful, and even though I was not allowed to walk to the beach, I could hear and see the ocean, framed by grass and palm and coconut trees. It was gorgeous. The service was exquisite, and very safe, with 3 delicious and very generous meals per day, delivered personally to my room. I would like to thank the staff and management for such a pleasant covid stay. A special shout out to Gopi, Aniketh, Michael, Ravi, Udhin and Swadesh for taking such good care of me, and for their kind care. And thank you to Randin and the whole team. I will never forget this experience, and do not regret that I travelled so very far to stay here. I chose this hotel for my covid experience for the access to outside space, for the delicious food, for a lovely room, and especially for the good service. And I was not disappointed!
We are just now staying here in quarantine with my husband and definitely having a very good time. The hotel is beautifully placed on the seashore, surrounded by palm trees and singing of birds. All the people from the staff are most friendly and ever ready to help with anything, at any time. The rooms are very big and spacious, too. The food is great and the chef is always taking our dietary requirements into consideration. The wifi works great, too, which helps us to spend productive time in quarantine and get some work done. Every few days there is also live music in the garden, which is really sweet and thoughtful.
I happened to have my birthday during the quarantine, too. When the hotel staff got to know about it from my husband, on their own initiative they prepared an amazing surprise! I woke up to receive birthday cake, mocktail and flowers, while all the staff went in front of our balcony (keeping social distance of course) and sang happy birthday. That was so sweet! Pity that I cannot attach a video here, so you can sense the atmosphere. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to everybody.
Kudos to Ravi, Udhin, Swadesh and Guest relation team,
Your service was excellent given the circumstances and sanitary restrictions. Food, beverages and extras were welcomed. And of course being solo in a 60m2 deluxe room at sea level is just exquisite.
God bless you all at the Beachcomber Resorts ans Spa.
