The Hotel San Marco is located in Lucca since 1992, in the immediate vicinity of the walls surrounding the old town. During 2010, the furnishings of the hotel were completely renovated, creating a warm and hospitable atmosphere in which customers from around the world will fell right at home.
San Marco Hotel rooms are comfortable, allergy-free and equipped with all comforts: air conditioning, hairdryer, safe, minibar, satellite TV, modem. Each room is unique, as it is dedicated to a famous characterof culture and history of Lucca: the furnishings are tied in perfectly with the graphic works on the walls. Smocking and handicapped accessible rooms are avilable on request.
It also features a swimming pool. In summertime buffet breakfast is also served on the terrace with a view of the garden.

Great communication from the hotel prior to arrival. Our flight was delayed so Fabio even sent me a video on WhatsApp on how to check in out of hours ! We found all staff polite, friendly and courteous.
The room was good, not the largest, but fairly standard for Italy, it was spotlessly cleaned every day. A great location with parking, rental bikes to explore Lucca and a nice pool area. About that, I suppose it was August and the hotel was pretty full, but there's only a certain amount of loungers by the pool and these would be snared by towel leaving guests from quite early on, and then not used for hours! Poor manners from guests rather than a hotel issue really.
Breakfast was more than adequate and staff had serving it 'Covid style' nailed down.
Turn right out of the hotel and there's a bar, bakery, butcher and small restaurant (lunch only) a two minute walk away for when you fancy a change of scenery from the hotel or Lucca. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at San Marco again.
From booking, to arrival, the stay and finally departure, everything was first rate.

We stayed for a week and found this to be a lovely small hotel with friendly, attentive staff. Rooms are modern and spotless, breakfast was great with lots of choice and the pool area was peaceful. We enjoyed being just outside the city walls as it was peaceful and only a short walk to the centre. Bikes are available to hire at a reasonable price and if you are travelling with your own bikes, safe storage available. We had a really enjoyable stay. Thank you San Marco staff.
