This is a very good place to stay if you are planning a visit to Lucca which is a delightful walled city. The hotel is just 15 minutes walk from the wall and has a very reasonable room rate by comparison to the hotels within the walled city. It has all the facilities one requires but what makes it is the delightful friendly and helpful staff, especially Maria at reception!
This hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the walls of Lucca. The hotel hire bikes for €10 per day and I would highly recommend it. Reception staff were amazing and so friendly and nothing was too much trouble if you needed information. Rooms are quite big and maid service every day. Went for a meal on the first night in the restaurant, but would advise to steer clear. Food was bland and the waitress couldn’t wait to get rid of us. Plenty of lovely restaurants nearby. Would defo stay again.
We were very let down with another property we were staying in, in the walls of Lucca.
So had to take the next best thing The Eurostar Toscana. As it was festival time the price increased by 45%, but it had become an urgency to find somewhere last minute so had no choice. Originally said breakfast included but once there said no we needed to pay extra 8 euros each per day. There 3 nights aircon useless until we complained, us British are too fussy it seems as per the receptionist. Told the cleaner we were stupido. As if we didn't understand..... If you leave on a Sunday & they order you a Taxi for the airport, there is an extra 20% on a Sunday as it is a religious day.
