The hotel is a short walk from the train station, and convenient for the centre and all the famous buildings of Florence. It retains an ambiance of grandeur from it’s past when it was a family mansion. There is a huge staircase at one end and what must have been the servants staircase at the other end (you can get lost). The room itself was small but perfectly adequate with a good bathroom and shower. The breakfast buffet was very good, the staff were very friendly and their COVID precautions were evident.
The hotel location is great and very close to the market and to the Dome.
The hotel as such needs renovation- urgently.
It is an old palazzo which you can see - but - our room is 10 years overdue. All done in the 90s or earlier.
One of the walls was super warm - some pipes? The aircon didn’t do it’s job.
I can not recommend this hotel at the current stage it is in.
There is lots of potential...
We stayed for 3 nights and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s no restaurant and we visited 2 of their recommendations round the corner which were excellent. Valet parking we emailed to request before we came which was great. Our sat nav had a wobble finding hotel so we were pretty stressed! Breakfast was continental but good selection - nice terrace to sit outside. Upgraded to superior room and had enormous bed (not two beds put together!). Air con not too noisy. All Covid precautions taken. Very clean. Superb location. Overall great value.
