Me and my girlfriend had decided to go to Iceland over a romantic week getaway. We booked everything through icelandairs own package booking and chose the Saga hotell as our place of stay. After reading the reviews we were a little torn but went ahead with it anyways. When we arrived at the hotell we were met well by the staff. They were helpful and happy. We got assigned our room and when we got in we saw that it was one of the outdated rooms. It lookked quite empty as there was only a drawer and a bed with some sort of a TV. We weren't happy at all as it was supposed to be a romantic getaway and the room looked old and the windows overlooking reykavik were super dirty. After going down to the reception and requesting a room in the remodeled wing we were moved to a new room. This room was ALOT better. Clean windows, modern furniture and walls, good bathroom. The new room had no problems but we wished we would've been put there to begin with since the hotell was fairly empty it didnt make sense why we didn't get a room there to begin with. The included breakfast was good with alot of options and it was easy to walk into the centre of the city. Buss transportation was avaiable from the hotell which was good.
Had a brilliant stay here last week.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food is good and the rooms are excellent.
