Stayed in a single room. Bed was larger than the average single bed and the room warm. The space in the room itself was very limited but having stayed in Reykjavik before, it wasn't a surprise! The bathroom was also compact but function with the shower warm and powerful. The room was very quiet as it overlooked an inner courtyard and I didn't hear any of the neighbouring rooms.
The downside of the hotel would be the breakfast. Choice was reasonable but due to the shear number of people staying at the hotel there were many empty trays of food or long queues for the food that was there. Space to sit and eat was also limited, so I had to wait some time for a table to become free.
I had a mixed experience of the staff at the front desk. Most were very friendly and helpful. They can book trips for you and you pay for them at the hotel. I would suggest to anyone that you ask to view your itinerary. I found that they had charged me for my own tour as well as a separate couple's tour too. The gentleman behind the counter was quite put out that I asked him to refund the money at the time, however it still took days to be refunded into my account.
Despite the booking issue it was a reasonably priced hotel for what was a busy few days.
The room is nice comfortable, good bed and matress
The ubication is in the city center but just in front of there is a square with drunk people and not a very good atmosphere
It hasn´t parking and is dificult to arrive with car
The breakfast is really bad
We stayed here twice during our ten days roundtrip in Iceland. It is perfect located at old town plaza and within walking distance to what you like to see or do. Taxi to BSI - flybus terminal - approx 1700 ISK. Very nice and helpful staff. A good breakfast buffet in basement. Clean rooms with good wifi. Antibac everywhere. We will definitely use this hotel next time coming as well. Rooms upstairs at front have very good Reykjavik sightings.
