Choose your board basis
Just arrived home after spending 10 days here at the Avalon hotel. On arrival from the airport we thought it was quite far out from a shop, bar etc. However, the hotel itself was welcoming and immaculately clean. We stayed on the second floor and over looked the tennis court and mini golf area, these are totally out of bounds but we didn’t go there to use these. We stayed on half board basis and due to the virus we had to pre-order all meals the day before. This wasn’t a problem but sometimes you do change your mind and it wasn’t possible to ever change. The breakfast was lovely but all hot food was always cold and the same goes for the evening meal. The variety of food option in the evening was really good from start to finish and the portions were huge!
The staff serving food were great and the bar man was absolutely great! His Service was impeccable, super friendly, and he did a great cocktail! (Can’t remember his is name).
A while into the holiday the lock broke on our main door and we had a long wait after a trip to the beach for our room to be opened, we were offered a new room but we enjoyed our room and stayed there. The pool
Area was stunning, quiet and super clean. So nice to have an adult only hotel with grown up guests and no music blearing. The pool was great and the views there are breath taking. I couldn’t fault this hotel from start to finish but the only downfall is that all around the hotel there must be a dogs home as the dogs barked all day and night, non stop! 🙈 obviously not the hotels fault but be prepared.
A taxi from the airport was €18 and a taxi into The square/harbour was €8. The walk to the harbour was ok going down but a no go coming back up. We opted for a quad rental to save on taxi. The square and harbour area are for eating out and was relatively quiet. We went every night down to Tsvilli, which had a bit more life and was much more busier, this took 7km on the quad. We spent everyday on the beach at the Venus bar, €7 for 2 beds on the beach front, absolutely great! Food was amazing!!
I’d definitely return here.
Avalon is one the most exquisite & upscale hotels in Zakynthos island.
Its sensational ambiance and its breathtaking view of the ionian sea makes the stay memorable!
The stuff is so friendly and willing to help you with everything you might need.
Totally recommend it to anyone.
We stayed here for four days in August 2020. We had a suite with a private pool. The pictures on the website or trip advisor don't do it justice. The view is breathtaking, the staff are helpful and polite, The food was good and our stay was amazing. Thank you Avalon.
