As a seasoned traveller who has stayed at some of the best hotels in the world I have to say that this was a hidden gem and I felt that I had been blessed by the heaven's!, not to mention the most hospitable and attentive staff.
I arrived late evening on my first day and the reception was very welcoming, helped me order some food from an excellent local restaurant and made sure I was happy with my room and all facilities. There were certain restrictions due to Covid, however, the staff ensured that I enjoyed my stay, tours and helped me in every way you could think of.
The accommodation itself is tastefully decorated and of a high standard, very clean and very well maintained especially during this pandemic. I felt safe, clean and well catered for. Breakfast was delicious every morning with a good selection of fruits, omelettes and yoghurts and other options if you fancy meat etc.
The hotel has its own swimming pool and Jacuzzi's and is located 5 mins walk from the beautiful beach which gives you the peace and serenity you need if you are coming for a relaxing break. Everything slows down and you realise why this island is so revered. It is the perfect place to escape to in these strange times, whether you are travelling alone, as a family or a couple looking for a much needed break.
There are an array of restaurants nearby to choose from and plenty of small local supermarkets to buy essentials. I stayed here for a week and I would recommend this hotel as the best place to stay if you want the beautiful beach as you can travel anywhere from here as your base, just adorable.
Just like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the staff and management of this wee gem of a hotel for all their assistance during our stay. We have just spent 12 nights and it is extremely difficult to fine any faults with the hotel.. The location is wonderful, pool, lounge and rooms are kept spotles with fresh towels and toiletries daily. The buffet breakfast offers of Full English, Continental or Greek style, fresh fruit, yogurts, fruit juices, bread, muffins, bread sticks, preserves and cheeses and more actually spoilt for choice. We would highly recommend booking this hotel and will return.
Myself and my husband spent 5 nights at Mar n Mar and we couldn't have been happier with the whole experience.
Staff - We arrived at the hotel in the evening and was greeted by Fotini and Dimitra who checked us in quickly with some lovely welcome drinks, luggage was taking up to our room and Fotini walked us to our room, gave us handy information and upgraded us from a standard double room to a junior suite with a hot tub which was amazing!!! Throughout the stay both ladies were pleasant, helpful and friendly and nothing we asked for was too much for them without them. We also got late check out for free as our flight was not till 10pm they let us use the room until we wanted to check out (Im guessing we got lucky as it was quiet because of covid). The cleaners and the man/pool-boy who took up our luggage and checked our hot tub every day was also very nice, friendly and efficient.
Junior suite - lovely clean room, spacious seating area and bathroom, toiletries were given generously (shampoo/conditioner/body wash, bath towels, face towels and towels for the pool). Outside our room we had a private hot tub, a table with two chairs and two sun loungers so we were all set! over looking the pool which was also very nice and clean.
Breakfast- is served from 8am to 11am with strict covid rules which was good and reassuring. Masks and gloves are worn by staff at all times whilst serving, one lady takes you through the breakfast buffet serving you what you want.
