Wow! What a holiday.
We stayed in the suites side of the Ixian Grand and it was amazing. Our own restaurant for breakfast with a view of the sea. This suite only restaurant also had a 4 course dinner menu which we were allowed to attend unlimited times. Amazing.
Our room was great, had its own swimming Pool. Only downfall in the room would be that it didn't have a long mirror.
We ate in all four restaurants and the 7 course seafood restaurant was amazing. Could not fault the food here one bit.
The swimming pool for everyone was huge and never packed, always easy to get a sunbed round the pool too.
We visited the water park which was great.
Evening entertainment was not great, it really would be an amazing hotel if the entertainment was to improve.
We did speak to some people who stayed in the hotel and not the suites and it did sound like they were having a completely different holiday. So I would advise if you can afford to stay in a suite, there seems to be a lot more extras that way.
Staff really friendly. Had a great holiday, Thanks Ixian Grande
We had a week here for our wedding anniversary. It was a real deal breaker that this was an adults only hotel. That by far was the loveliest of surprises. Have no problem with children but as we were holidaying without ours we felt this was a good idea. We felt so relaxed. A pool area is so so quiet without kids.
It was disappointing that although we had emailed the hotel explaining it was a 15th wedding anniversary and we had paid for an upgraded room which also stated “request for jacuzzi bath” (as advised) upon arrival we were given the wrong room. ( and no bottle of bubbly or a nice little gesture of any kind). Then had to hang around waiting for one to be ready. Then there was a 24 hr period of no water in most of the hotel. Nightmare. However, undeterred we managed to have a great time. Had a couple of days away from the hotel out and about, area is a little shabby. Cocktails found the pool were lovely, we were always ok to find a sun bed on the beach or around the pool so really that was all we needed for much needed rest and relaxation.
We stayed there at the end of June. It is ideal for people who prefer rest with no kids all around. Great cuisine, especially seafood La carte, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms large and clean. Pool area and garden around are spectacular and 'Instagram-friendly'. The only problem the staff could think about is the shortage of sunbeds. That was amazing (in a negative sense): imagine just coming after breakfast at 7.30 with no sunbeds available!!! No people around, just towels on all the sunbeds... something should be done with that, I suppose.
