We found the Labranda excellent value for money. The staff are friendly, helpful and work really hard to ensure you get great service. There is also a good choice of food and we would certainly recommend both A la Carte restaurants
First of all a disclaimer: this hotel was not our first choice, in fact it was not a choice at all as we did not book it! Thanks to a monumental cck-up by Tui the original hotel we booked for 11 nights closed after only a week and we were moved to the Labranda Blu Bay without being given any other choice for the remainder of our holiday. We had originally paid for a 5 adults only resort and this place is a 3 resort catered towards families so suffice to say we weren't exactly happy with the situation!
However once we were there have to say the hotel did the best they could for us under the circumstances and in particular every single member of staff we had interactions with were excellent. Not sure if it was the fact we were the very last guests of the season or whether they are like this all the time but nothing was too much trouble for them. Room service even went so far as to leave us little treats in the form of cakes or fruit every day after they had been in and always came back in the evening as well to check that we were ok for things like fresh towels or extra teabags. Cannot fault any of them in this respect.
Food in the main dining room was fine generally, if you were there for a week or longer it would get quite repetitive but it was all of a reasonable standard and we never went hungry. Drinks options on the all inclusive are a little limited (beer, wine and a small selection of cocktails) but as with the food the standard was fine. A nice little touch was the staff bringing round drinks and desserts without prompting while people were sat on the beach during the day which is something that we didn't even get at the 5 place beforehand!
The beach itself definitely isn't the prettiest that you'll ever see and a lot of the sun loungers both there and by the pools have definitely seen better days but we never struggled to find a free space. As a couple without children the water park, playgrounds and other kids entertainment facilities held absolutely no interest for us and as it was the very end of the season most of these were closed down anyway so can't really comment on that.
Our room was a good size and comfortable enough but a little basic, about what you might expect in a 3* hotel. We were in literally the furthest point away from the main building (on the top floor of block 4000) which looked as though it would normally be where families are put as the kids pool is directly below. Wi-fi signal was non-existent and the air-con also didn't seem to work which in the summer would definitely be an issue but as we were there in November we just about managed.
An important point to note is that the hotel is only 15 mins or so from Rhodes airport and directly under the flight path for incoming planes. This means that while your journey to the airport may be short you will have to put up with the noise from low flying planes overhead. We were there at the very end of the season and also while lockdown restrictions were in place throughout Greece so there were only a very small number of flights (2-3 a day max) but would imagine in high season this will increase and be a bit more annoying!
As mentioned at the start a resort like this wasn't where we had planned to stay and if I'm being honest it probably wouldn't have been on our list to consider in the first place either. Despite that we did manage to make the most of our few days there thanks in the main to the excellent staff.
We were moved to labranda blue bay resort from atlantica due to Covid lockdown and tbh we were a bit disappointed to start with but all credit due to all staff and management they done an amazing job for us,, the entertainment was good they got us the drinks we wanted and upgraded our rooms for free and we feel we would definitely come to this resort again by choice as it has a really nice atmosphere and a lot to offer
