Set in gardens, KLEOPATRA offers studio apartments in the former fishing village of Stoupa, which is in the Kalamata region of Greece. It's a short stroll from the resort centre, with its traditional tavernas, seafood restaurants and beach bars. From here, you could discover the local attractions, which include hilltop villages, archaeological sites and coastal towns. Renovated in 2016, the hotel has a whitewashed exterior with a traditional terracotta tiled roof and balconies overlooking the surrounding area. Rooms have light coloured walls, white floor tiles and wooden furniture, plus patio doors leading outside. You'll find floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant, alongside an assortment of traditional Greek pottery and ornaments. After a day at the beach, you can enjoy a drink from the bar, which is open from morning until late. There's a buffet restaurant where a spread is laid out for breakfast each morning. It's a short stroll to the sandy shores of Stoupa, where you'll find clear water for swimming and paddling, alongside a variety of waterfront tavernas. You could take a day trip to the ruins at Mystras, which used to be the Byzantine capital and is now an archaeological site with a castle, old churches and ancient city walls.
KLEOPATRA is a short stroll from the beach at Stoupa, as well as the village centre with its souvenir shops and seafood restaurants. Kalogria Beach is also within walking distance and is a popular, family-friendly swimming spot. You can wander around the walking and hiking trails in the local area, where you'll find villages and olive groves. If you fancy a day trip, you can visit the Caves of Diros, an important archaeological site where you can take a boat tour on the underground lake past the stalagmites and stalactites. On a day trip to UNESCO-protected Mystras, which is set into the hillside, you'll have views across the Greek countryside.
You can have a continental breakfast at the buffet restaurant. You could also prepare a meal or snack in your kitchenette, perhaps with fresh ingredients from the local market. There are cafés, restaurants and tavernas within a short stroll of the hotel if you want to try some local cuisine.
You can take a short drive to Kardamyli, which is home to the secluded and pebbly Foneas Beach and the narrow streets of its historic Old Town.
